The draw for the Champions League Groups Stages has completed earlier today and this is what I think of the draw.
GROUP STAGE DRAW:
GROUP A: Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid, Salzburg, Lokomotiv Moscow
GROUP B: Real Madrid, Shakhtar Donetsk, Inter Milan, Borussia Monchengladbach
GROUP C: Porto, Man City, Olympiakos, Marseille
GROUP D: Liverpool, Ajax, Atalanta, Midtjylland
GROUP E: Sevilla, Chelsea, Krasnodar, Rennes
GROUP F: Zenit, Borussia Dortmund, Lazio, Club Brugge
GROUP G: Juventus, Barcelona, Dynamo Kiev, Ferencvaros
GROUP H: PSG, Man United, RB Leipzig, Istanbul Besaksehir
Out of the English sides, Man United probably have the toughest draw with PSG and RB Leipzig in their group. PSG have a team full of superstars such as Neymar, Mbappe and Di Maria while Leipzig made the semi finals last season which make them a tough opposition for United. That group is arguably the group of death as United, PSG and Leipzig will all want to push for a place in the last 16. Liverpool and Chelsea will have no problems with their group as they're up against opposition that they'll expect to beat. They both have a tricky tie with Liverpool up against Ajax and Chelsea up against Europa League winners Sevilla, but both of them should still go through comfortably. Man City have a straight forward group so they'll expect themselves to proably win the group as all their opponents are winnable games. Marseille may be a tough test for them, but City still have enough to beat them with the quality of players they have.
It'll be interesting to see who finishes top of Group G as Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi go up against each other for Juventus and Barcelona respectively. The pair haven't faced each other for two seasons when Ronaldo was at Real Madrid haven't faced each other in this competition since 2011 when Barcelona faced Real in the semi finals that season. Real Madrid themselves have a straight forward group to look forward to. Inter Milan will a tough game but they should still have enough to beat Shakhtar Donetsk and Borussia Monchengladbach. Holders Bayern Munich have a fairly straight forward group. Atleitco Madrid will be their toughest game for sure but they'll still have enough to beat Salzburg and Lokomotiv Moscow in their group. Borussia Dortmund will be favourites to get out of their group which in my opinion is probably the weakest group as the other teams don't have the talent that Dortmund have. Club Brugge will be massive underdogs in Group F for sure while Zenit and Lazio will probably battle it out for second place.
