Champions League Final 2026 Preview

PROBABLE LINE UPS FROM BOTH TEAMS:

PSG's journey to the final was like their journey last season in that they made a slow start to the league phase but have got better as the season has progressed.

If they win this final, I wonder if they'll go down as the greatest club side of all time and yes I am saying better than the Barcelona side under Pep Guardiola because that side never won the Champions League back-to-back.

This PSG side are similar to that Barcelona side in that they have some exciting young players in their team with some having come through their academy and they play football a similar way.

They're also like Real Madrid in that they used to buy world stars in the hope of winning the Champions League like Real did during the Galacticos era.

But they soon moved away from that by moving on the egos and both bringing through and buying young players so they could build the team around them.

There will be some pressure on Arsenal to win this final and to make it a hat trick of European trophy wins after seeing Aston Villa win the Europa League and Crystal Palace win the Europa Conference League.

The Champions League is the only trophy that the Gunners haven't won in their history and they won't have a better opportunity to win it than this one.

The side that reached the final in 2006 was very good on paper, but they just scrapped into the top four of the Premier League that season whereas this side come into this final off the back of winning the Premier League title.

The Gunners are yet to lose in this competition this season and although they come into the game as underdogs, they'll still be feeling confident of getting a win here.

PREDICTION:

This final will definitely be closer than last year's because Arsenal will provide more of a test for PSG than Inter Milan did last season where PSG completely destroyed them.

The Gunners will definitely make it difficult for the holders because of how strong they are defensively but I think the Parisians will just edge it because their attack is arguably better.
