TUESDAY:

ASTON VILLA V PSG

Aston Villa were second best throughout the first leg as they barely threatened the PSG goal.

They should give it more of a go in this leg as they're behind and the home team, the latter of which still gives them a chance here.

PSG have been known for blowing first leg leads in the past and I can remember two occasions where they did in 2017 when they blew a four goal lead against Barcelona, and 2022 when they blew a two goal lead against Real Madrid.

I don't see that happening with them in this one though as they're a more cohesive unit than they have been in recent seasons.

I still think Villa will give it more of a go than they did in the first leg as they're at home, but I think PSG will have enough quality to win the game and see themselves through to the semi finals.

PREDICTION: 1-2

BORUSSIA DORTMUND V BARCELONA

Borussia Dortmund have it all to do in this second leg as they're 4-0 down and they simply have to go for it here if they're to stand any chance of turning this tie around.

One thing that will help will be them being at home and having the home crowd on their side. The atmosphere at the Signal Iduna Park is always electric due to the noise the fans generate and I think they'll do their best to intimidate Barca.

Barcelona played some incredible football in the first leg like they have done all season and I just know that they're going to play the same way again in this one.

I do think Dortmund will score though because of them being at home and the fact that they're one of the top goal scorers in the competition this season.

But I think Barca will show their quality once again to see themselves through to the next round.

PREDICTION: 2-3

WEDNESDAY:

INTER MILAN V BAYERN MUNICH

Inter Milan have the advantage in this tie and them being at home for this second leg surely makes them the favourites to progress.

Bayern Munich had a lot of chances in the first leg they couldn't take all but one of them with that one they took being Thomas Muller's equaliser. Their wastefulness from that game could be what costs them in this tie.

Vincent Kompany's side will of course fancy themselves to turn the tie around as they have a lot of goals in their attack. But it's going to be tough as Inter have the best defence in the competition, and the San Siro is always a tough place to go to.

Inter only need a draw to progress and I think they'll get it in this leg by frustrating Bayern. I think both teams will score, but I think Inter will be happy to just sit in and defend.

PREDICTION: 1-1

REAL MADRID V ARSENAL

Real Madrid have it all to do in this second leg and being at home in this leg gives them a chance of turning this tie around.

The odds will be against them here and understandably so, but they will back themselves to turn it around because of the history they have in this competition and the fact that they'll have home advantage in this second leg.

Arsenal were outstanding all over the pitch in the first leg and they only need a draw to progress to the semi finals.

I do think Real will respond as they're home. But I think the Gunners will have enough in them defensively to hold on for a draw.

PREDICTION: 1-1

PREMIER LEAGUE FIXTURE

NEWCASTLE V CRYSTAL PALACE

I thought Newcastle might be hit by a dip in form after winning the Carabao Cup, but that has turned out not to be the case as they've won every game since including their impressive win over Man United on Sunday.

The Magpies will move up to 3rd if they win this important game in hand which will very much put them in the driving seat for Champions League football next season.

Eddie Howe will again be unavailable for this game as he's still recovering in hospital and his team will again use this as motivation.

Crystal Palace have fared better on the road than they have at home this season and I'm expecting them to give Newcastle a good game here.

Their good run of form did come to an end at the weekend against Man City, but Oliver Glasner's side will be determined to start another run so they can end the season strongly.

Both teams will go for it here and I can see it being a good and close game.

But I think Newcastle will just come out on top due to the form they're in.

PREDICTION: 2-1
