Caicedo the difference the maker for Chelsea

Chelsea's front three of Palmer, Rogers and Pedro have received a lot of praise this season including in their 5-1 win over Bournemouth on Saturday.

But against Bournemouth, the return of Moises Caicedo was the biggest difference as he brought solidity to the midfield by making crucial interventions whenever his team needed him to.

The struggles Chelsea have faced defensively this season have mainly been down to them looking too open at the back as teams have been able to score goals against them.

But one reason why they've been easy to play against is because they haven't had a proper no.6 to sit in front of their defence and protect it.

The blues may still be yet to keep a clean sheet this season, but against Bournemouth they looked less easy to play against with Caicedo back in their midfield because he kept the ball away from their penalty area by being able to sniff out danger in getting himself in positions to make key interventions.

The blues are a much better team when Caicedo is playing because of what he brings to it in tenacity, energy and quality and it arguably makes him their most important player.

Could Bournemouth be in a relegation battle?

Bournemouth are still without win in the Premier League this season as they find themselves just once place outside the relegation zone after six games.

Because of this and them having to juggle Europe alongside Premier League commitments, could they be in a relegation battle this season?

Managing both European and Premier League football is by no means an easy feat as many teams have found out over the years due to a lack of squad depth and players not used to the Thursday-Sunday schedule.

Whenever a club playing in Europe for the first time is without a win at this stage of a season, the signs are always worrying because their confidence is low and it can be tricky to pick themselves back up knowing the challenges of playing in Europe.

The Cherries have some tough league games coming up with Sunderland, Man United and Leeds in their next three and they're also going to be without Alex Scott for a while which is a big blow.

New boss Marco Rose does need time and he should get it because the Cherries gave Andoni Iraola time following the tough start he had and we went on to have successful time at the club.

But if results don't pick up over the next month, the Cherries will be in for tough season and could maybe be battling it out near the bottom.

Man City showing signs of their off field issues not affecting them

The last two weeks were overshadowed by Man City being found guilty of their 114 charges for breaking financial rules for which they have since appeal against.

I and maybe a number of other people thought that might have an effect on them heading into their game against Liverpool on Sunday and especially at a stadium like Anfield where the atmosphere can be intimidating for the away side.

But they showed on Sunday that their off-field troubles are not effecting them as they weathered the storm of Anfield crowd and put in a classy display. Especially after Liverpool had Ryan Gravenberch sent off which proved to be a turning point in the game.

It did take them a while to get going as Liverpool were arguably the better side early on, but once Liverpool had their man sent off, City upped their performance levels as they made the most of having the extra man and went on to win the game comfortably.

The entire football world will be against them because of what they've been found guilty of, but they'll still show what a good side they are no matter the repercussions they're going to face in the future.

The punishments they're likely to face do leave a cloud hanging over them and will do for the rest of the season, but all the players can do is go out there and perform for their team whlist dealing with this distraction and they did that against Liverpool.
