2022 has been an up and down for a number of teams and players in what has been another incredible year of football. After another outstanding year of football, I've decided to pick my best teams both in the Premier League and the world.

PREMIER LEAGUE TEAM OF THE YEAR

GK: EDERSON (MAN CITY) - Ederson shared the golden glove with Alisson last season as Man City won yet another title and is having a fairly solid season so far this season. He might not have been at his best early on but over the course of the whole year he's been solid and has again been crucial to how City play with his distribution.

RB: BEN WHITE (ARSENAL) - White has been solid all year for Arsenal wherever he's been asked to play. He did a decent job at centre back in the first half of the year and since moving to right back this season, he's been excellent. Brilliant in both departments and his form even earned him a recall to the England squad on a couple of occasions.

CB: MARC GUEHI (CRYSTAL PALACE) - Picking my centre backs was a bit challenging this year as there haven't been that many who have stood out all year round. But Marc Guehi has certainly been one of them. He's been solid at the back all year for Palace at the age of just 22 and has arguably been the most consistent central defender this year. His form last season earned him an England call up and has carried that form into this season.

CB: ERIC DIER (TOTTENHAM) - He might not have ended the year in the best of form but for most of the year Dier has been solid. He's thrived in the middle of a back three under Antonio Conte which is arguably his best position. Spurs have looked solid defensively when he's been back there and especially when he's been in the middle of that three man defence.

LB: JOAO CANCELO (MAN CITY) - Cancelo is probably the best full back in the Premier League and he's certainly been that all year round. He's excellent in both departments and especially going forward with the chances he creates from full back. His ability to create is what makes him a crucial player for City.

CDM: RODRI (MAN CITY) - Rodri has grown into a top class defensive midfielder this year by dictating play in midfield and being a shield in front of the City defence. There were doubts about it during his opening months at City but since then he's become the player we all thought he would be. Especially this year.

CM: KEVIN DE BRUYNE (MAN CITY) - KDB was again at his brilliant best in 2022 as City defended their Premier League title and out themselves in contention for another. He ended last season as their top goal scorer thanks to his goal scoring form during the latter stages of the season and this season he's the top assist provider. He's probably been the best Premier League player this year as a whole.

CM: MARTIN ODEGAARD (ARSENAL) - Odegaard has stepped up as a real leader for Arsenal this year and you can see that in his performances. He leads by example in the way he plays the game and since being named Arsenal captain, his game has gone onto another level.

RW: BUKAYO SAKA (ARSENAL) - Saka has been on fire all year round for Arsenal as he stepped up as their main man. He scored lots of crucial goals for his team and is already looking like a top class player at the age of just 21.

LW: PHIL FODEN (MAN CITY) - Foden has had another excellent year for City as established himself as a key player for City. He scored a lot of crucial goals right throughout the year and is one of the first names on the team sheet for both club and country.

ST: HARRY KANE (TOTTENHAM) - Kane scored the most goals in 2022 with 26 as he firmly put his sole focus on Spurs. He showed the other side of his game as well in dropping deep and creating chances for his teammates and without his contributions both this season and last season, Spurs might not have got very far.

MANAGER: PEP GUARDIOLA (MAN CITY) - Pep guided Man City to another league title in 2022 which pretty much confirmed City's dominance in English football. He's got City up there challenging again this season and hopefully in the new year he'll bring home that elusive Champions League trophy.

WORLD TEAM OF THE YEAR

GK: THIBAUT COURTOIS (REAL MADRID/BELGIUM) - Courtois was solid between the sticks right throughout the year by making lots of crucial saves and being a strong presence between the posts. His performance in the Champions League final reminded everyone why he's one of the best keepers around.

RB: ACHRAF HAKIMI (PSG/MOROCCO) - Hakimi was no doubt the best right back in 2022 because of his solid performance defensively and ability to bomb forward get crosses into the box. He's been decent all year round for PSG despite bombing it in the Champions League again and was a crucial part of the Morocco side that reached the World Cup semi finals.

CB: EDER MILITAO (REAL MADRID/BRAZIL) - Militao has looked solid at the back all year round for Real Madrid with his performance back there being a crucial part of their La Liga and Champions League successes last season. He might not have been a first choice pick for Brazil but for Real, he stepped up whenever he was ased to play.

CB: DAVID ALABA (REAL MADRID/AUSTRIA) - The versatile defender stepped up as Real Madrid's leader at the back after the departure of Sergio Ramos as Real went on to win both La Liga and the Champions League. He put in solid performances all year round and he showed why he kept his place after the arrival of Antonio Rudiger.

LB: JOAO CANCELO (MAN CITY/PORTUGAL) - Cancelo was excellent for City both in the Premier League and in Europe by being solid in both departments. He was creative and a threat when he went forward and he had the ability and endurance to get back and make a crucial intervention defensively. He might not have had his best World Cup with Portugal but with City he showed time and time again why he's one of the best full backs around.

RW: VINICIUS JUNIOR (REAL MADRID/BRAZIL) - Vinicius took his game to another level in 2022 by finally adding end product to his game. His finishing has improved a lot as he's scored a handful goals with most of them being crucial both in La Liga and the Champions League. His form even made him a regular starter for Brazil at the World Cup.

CM: KEVIN DE BRUYNE (MAN CITY/BELGIUM) - De Bruyne showed why he's one of if not the best midfielder in the world in 2022 by taking control of games on more than one occasion with his ability to dictate play in midfield. He bagged a lot of crucial goals at the back end of last season as City went on to defend their Premier League title and he has carried that form with him into this season as City are up there fighting once again.

CM: CASEMIRO (MAN UNITED/BRAZIL) - Casemiro is arguably one of the most underrated players of his generation as he hasn't always got the credit he deserves. He played a key role in Real Madrid's La Liga and Champions League successes last season by dictating play in midfield and being a wall in front of the back four. He's taken those performances with him to Man United where he's made such a difference since his arrival there in the summer.

LW: KYLIAN MBAPPE (PSG/FRANCE) - Mbappe has shown all year round why he's the heir to Lionel Messi's throne as the best player in the world with the goals he's scored and the many abilities he has. He won the golden boot at the World Cup as France nearly went all the way and had another incredible year with PSG winning another Ligue 1 title. He'll surely want to win the Champions League next.

ST: KARIM BENZEMA (REAL MADRID/FRANCE) - The winner of the Ballon D'or and rightly so. Benzema bagged loads of goals in the first half of the year as Real Madrid won both La Liga and the Champions League both triumphs he was a huge part of. He might've struggled with injuries in the second half of the year but him winning the Ballon D'or is why he's in this team.

ST: ERLING HAALAND (MAN CITY/NORWAY) - Haaland has had another goal laden year in 2022 by bagging a hatful goals both for Dortmund and already for Man City. His strike rate since he's been at City has been incredible and with the amount of goals he's already scored, he's set to break all kinds of records.

MANAGER: LIONEL SCALONI (ARGENTINA) - After winning the Copa America last year, Scaloni lead Argentina to more international success by winning both the Finalissima and the World Cup. Argentina were in a mess when he took over a few years ago and since then he's won 3 trophies and and put them back amongst the best teams in the world. He brought through some younger players in order to do that.
