10 Players With A Big Season Ahead

The new Premier League season kicks off this weekend and there will be a number of players looking to prove a point.
Let's see which 10 players I think will have a big season ahead of them.
PHIL FODEN - MAN CITY
Foden had a disappointing last season considering the heights he hit the season before, but he did look back to his best at the Club World Cup during the summer. With Kevin De Bruyne, this could be the season where he steps up as City's go-to man in midfield and if he can do that, he could force hi way back into the England team ahead of the World Cup next summer.
LIAM DELAP - CHELSEA
There will be a lot of pressure on Delap and not just because he's at a big club in Chelsea, but because he's wearing the cursed no.9 shirt. It's been a long time since the blues had a successful striker to have work that shirt, and if Delap can get off to a strong start and keep it up for the entire season, he could earn himself an England call up and make himself Harry Kane's long-term replacement.
FLORIAN WIRTZ - LIVERPOOL
A lot will be expected of Wirtz because of the big price tag and the quality of player he is. Not many German players have lit up the Premier League over the years which will of course add even more pressure on him. But if he can hit the ground running straight away, Liverpool have a good chance of defending their title.
JOEL PIROE - LEEDS
Piroe scored 19 goals in the Championship last season as Leeds won the title, but whether he can repeat that kind of form in the Premier League remains to be seen. Leeds's hopes of survival may well rest with him because of how important his goals were last season and if he can start well and score at a consistent rate, Leeds will have a good chance of staying up.
KEVIN SCHADE - BRENTFORD
With Bryan Mbeumo gone and Yoane Wissa potentially on his way out, Schade might need to step up as the Brentford's new talisman. He showed last season that he's capable of doing so after netting 11 times and if he can carry that form into this season, he could well be the Bees' go-to man.
JORGEN STRAND LARSEN - WOLVES
Strand Larsen had a decent debut season at Wolves last season as he netted 14 goals whilst on loan. With Matheus Cunha gone, Wolves' hopes of holding off a relegation fight may well rest with him. He showed that he is capable of stepping up in Cunha's absence towards the end of last season in the games where Cunha was unavailable and if Wolves are to stay out of another relegation dogfight, he'll need to do the same again.
NICLAS FULLKRUG - WEST HAM
Fullkrug had an injury disrupted first season at West Ham last season as he featured just 18 times and scored only 3 goals. With a full pre season under his belt to build up his fitness, he'll be looking to show the Hammers they player they signed last summer and especially with the form he's been in during pre-season.
VIKTOR GYOKERES - ARSENAL
Arsenal have lacked that clinical no.9 for the last few seasons and their lack of one last season really cost them as they finished a long way off Liverpool. Gyokeres has been one of the top performing strikers in Europe in recent seasons and appears to be exactly what they need in a centre forward who can consistently score goals. If he can start well and keep it up for the rest of the season, Arsenal have a good chance of winning the title.
BRENNAN JOHNSON - TOTTENHAM
Johnson put himself in the history books last season with his winning goal in the Europa League final and was also arguably Spurs' only shining light in what was a difficult campaign. He has the chance this season to be Spurs' new talisman following the departure of Heung Min Son and if he can repeat the performances he put in last season, he could well be Spurs' new main man.
BENJAMIN SESKO - MAN UNITED
Man United have lacked a clinical no.9 for a number of years now and last season was their worst in front of goal as they scored just 44 times. Sesko showed a lot of promise during his two seasons at RB Leipzig and is probably a more proven striker than Rasmus Hojlund was when United signed him. If he can start well and keep scoring goals at a good rate for the entire season, United may finally have the player they've been crying out for for years.
