At the end of each calendar year, I pick the best Premier League player from each club based on how well they've performed across the entire year. I've done it again this year and now it's time to show you who I have chosen.
ARSENAL – DECLAN RICE
Rice was Arsenal’s most consistent player in 2025 as he developed into one of the best midfielders in Europe. He was a defensive midfielder when he first joined Arsenal and now he’s a well-established box-to-box midfielder because of his energy, work rate and ability to do both sides of the game with the attacking side being the most improved.
ASTON VILLA – MORGAN ROGERS
Rogers was Villa’s most consistent performer this year as he scored a lot of important goals and became one of Villa’s most important players. He won the PFA Young Player of the Year award last season and is already looking like a serious contender for the main award this season. His form this year has made him a regular in the England team and if he keep up the form he’s shown this year, he could potentially start at the World Cup.
BOURNEMOUTH – ANTOINE SEMENYO
Semenyo was by far the Cherries standout performer in 2025 as he scored 14 goals across the entire year with 9 of them coming this season. The form he’s been in particularly this season has already got some of the big clubs interested in him and the Cherries will do well to keep him in the new year.
BRENTFORD – MIKKEL DAMSGAARD
Damsgaard for me was Brentford’s standout performer this year as he became the Bees’ main creator and scored some crucial goals. It took him a while to adjust to the Premier League, but in 2025 he finally settled in by becoming an important player for the Bees.
BRIGHTON – DANNY WELBECK
Welbeck may be getting on a bit at the age of 35, but he was still Brighton’s standout performer in 2025 as he scored 12 goals across the entire year overall. He’s looked after himself very well as his form this year has shown and he was even tipped for a return to the England set up at some point.
BURNLEY – ZIAN FLEMMING
Flemming was the Clarets top scorer last season during their promotion campaign and is their top scorer this season as well. Burnley have found goals hard to come by this season, but Flemming has still stepped up on that front by scoring 5 times and without him they might not have as many points.
CHELSEA – MOISES CAICEDO
Caicedo was Chelsea’s most consistent performer in 2025 in what was an up and down yet successful year for the blues. He worked his socks off in the midfield all year round by making many key interventions whenever his team needed to and even popping up with the odd crucial goal. He’s a mixture of former blues players Claude Makelele and N’Golo Kante.
CRYSTAL PALACE – MARC GUEHI
Guehi was excellent throughout the year for Palace by making many key interventions and also stepping up as a leader. He could’ve down tooled after his move to Liverpool broke down, but he showed a positive attitude and kept on performing as Palace started the season very strongly. They’ll have a big job on their hands in trying to keep hold of him in the new year.
EVERTON – JORDAN PICKFORD
Pickford was again Everton’s standout performer this year as he made many big and crucial saves to keep his side in games. He did that week in week out throughout the entire year and the Toffees would be much lower down the table without him.
FULHAM – ALEX IWOBI
Iwobi was Fulham’s most consistent player in 2025 as he put in a good shift wherever he was asked to play and provided some crucial contributions. He’s finally at a club where he’s thriving and playing well consistently after not showing it enough at Arsenal and Everton.
LEEDS – AO TANAKA
Tanaka was one of Leeds’ standout performers during their promotion campaign last season and has been one of their best players so far this season. He’s worked his socks off all year round with his energy and work rate and he’s also popped up with some crucial contributions.
LIVERPOOL – DOMINIK SZOBOSZLAI
Szoboszlai was by far Liverpool’s most consistent player throughout 2025 by working his socks off all year round. His work rate and energy off the ball played a key role in the reds’ title win last season and he’s been one of their very few shining lights this season in what has been a challenging campaign so far by putting in good performances week in week out.
MAN CITY – ERLING HAALAND
Haaland scored more goals than any other player in 2025 and his goals carried City for most of the year. He’s been in fine goal scoring form this season as he's already scored 19 goals which have all but gauranteed him his third golden boot.
MAN UNITED – BRUNO FERNANDES
2025 has probably been the worst year in Man United’s history but if there was one player who stood out over the course of the year, it was Fernandes. He carried United throughout the entire year like he has done ever since he joined the club with the goals and creativity and I’m not sure where they would be without him.
NEWCASTLE – BRUNO GUIMARAES
Guimaraes has transformed Newcastle since he’s been at the club and he was arguably their most consistent performer in 2025. He captained the Magpies to their first major trophy in 70 years last season when they won the Carabao Cup and provided moments of quality whenever his team needed them.
NOTTINGHAM FOREST – ELLIOT ANDERSON
Anderson was Forest’s most consistent performer in 2025 as he put in a number of good performances throughout the year due to his energy and ability to control games from midfield. His form throughout the year earned him an England call up and after impressing in almost every game he's played for England, he's already a guaranteed starter at the World Cup in the summer.
SUNDERLAND – DAN BALLARD
Ballard played an integral role for Sunderland during their promotion campaign last season and has been one of their best players so far this season. His late goal in extra time of their play off semi final against Coventry sent the Black Cats to the play off final and has put in solid performances all year round.
TOTTENHAM – MICKY VAN DE VEN
Van De Ven make a huge difference to Spurs defensively when he’s in the team because of his reading of the game and ability to make vital interventions. His clearance off the line in the Europa League final was key to Spurs winning that game and he as stepped up and put in solid performances whenever he was on the pitch.
WEST HAM – JARROD BOWEN
Bowen was by far West Ham’s best player in 2025 as he carried the team throughout the entire year. He stepped up whenever his team needed him to by scoring many crucial goals and without him I'm not sure where the Hammers would be.
WOLVES – JOAO GOMES
2025 has been a year of two halves for Wolves, but if there was one player who has stood out for them this year it was Joao Gomes. He was their player of the season last season and has been one of their better performers this season in what has been a really tough season for them. He’s put in a number of good performances in midfield throughout the year and he’ll probably get a move next summer with Wolves pretty much good as relegated.
