FA Cup 4th Round Draw Verdict

The draw for the 4th Round of the FA Cup was made earlier today and there are some interesting ties to look forward to next month.

This is what I think of the draw.

Macclesfield, who knocked out holders Crystal Palace in the 3rd Round, have the chance to cause yet another big scalp as they'll be facing another Premier League side in Brentford. They'll surely fancy themselves to cause another major shock after knocking out Palace in the last round.

We could also have two potential shocks coming from League 2 sides in Grimsby, who will be facing Wolves and either Salford or Swindon, with the winner of that game playing Man City. The latter would definitely be the bigger shock if either Salford or Swindon were to pull it off because of the quality that Man City possess.

Three clubs in League 1 have a chance to cause an upset in Wigan, Burton and Mansfield. Wigan will be facing Premier League leaders Arsenal, Burton will be taking on West Ham and Mansfield will be facing Burnley.

We could also have shocks coming from Championship sides in Stoke, Oxford, Hull and Birmingham. Stoke will be taking on Fulham, Oxford will be facing Sunderland, Hull will be facing Chelsea and Birmingham will be facing Leeds.

There could be two all-Premier League ties to look forward with Aston Villa taking on Newcastle and Liverpool, who need to win their game against Barnsley to progress to the 4th Round, taking on Brighton.
