Jarrod Bowen very unlucky not to be in England squad

Jarrod Bowen has been one of if not the only shining light for West Ham this season as he ended the season with 13 goals with 4 of them coming in each of the Hammers' final four games.

But despite the season he has had and the form he was in to end the season, he was somehow left out of the latest England squad.

He was very unlucky to be left out of the squad simply because of the form he's been in recently and over the course of the season.

He's been a regular in the England squad for at least the past year and a half and because of this and the form he's been in this season, his omission will come as a surprise both to him and the fans.

Chelsea's Noni Madueke was chosen ahead of him as the back-up right winger to Bukayo Saka and although Madueke has had a decent season at Chelsea and is a player for future, Bowen probably should've been picked ahead of him as he had the better season.

Should Villa's disallowed goal have stood?

There were two major incidents during the Man United-Aston Villa game yesterday with one of them being Morgan Rogers' disallowed goal in the second half.

The goal was disallowed because the referee thought that Rogers kicked the ball out of Man United keeper Altay Bayindir's hands even though Bayindir didn't have complete control of the ball.

So should the goal have stood?

The law for fouls and misconduct states that a goalkeeper is considered to be in control of the ball with their hands if the ball is between their hands, between their hand or any surface, or if they're touching the ball with a part of their hands or arms, unless the keeper has made a save or if the ball rebounds off the keeper.

Bayindir was not in control of the ball when Rogers won it from him as it was still loose and because the ball was loose, Rogers was entitled to win it from the keeper.

If anything it was more of a goalkeeping mistake than a foul from Rogers on the keeper meaning that the goal should've stood.

Could no Champions League football lead to key players leaving Forest?

Nottingham Forest were the surprise package of the season by being involved in the race for Champions League football after being tipped by many to be in a relegation battle.

But despite spending most of the season in the top four and having the season they did, they fell short of qualifying for the Champions League.

Could no Champions League football lead to some of their key players leaving this summer?

They will have a European campaign to look forward next season in the Europa Conference League after finishing in 7th place. But some of their players may want to play in the Champions League because of the brilliant seasons they've had.

Morgan Gibbs-White will no doubt be the main one as he's had another productive season and has been one of the players of the season. He registered 8 goals and 10 assists this season and having earned a few England caps alongside that, he'll feel that he's ready to test himself at the top level for one of the top teams in the league.

Being involved in European competition next season will excite their players as it would for any team who are new to playing in Europe. But some of their player may want to be play at a level higher than the Conference League as they'll want to test themselves against teams of a higher level than those in the Conference League.

A lot of of their players will stay as they're playing in a side where they're guaranteed game time and feel settled. But how many they'll be able to keep hold of due to them missing out on the Champions League will be interesting.
