Should Bruno Fernandes get recognised as one of the greatest Premier League midfielders?

Bruno Fernandes broke the record for most assists in a single season by picking up 21 assists taking him above Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne in the all-time charts.

He's been one of the best midfielders in the Premier League ever since he joined Man United and with the season he's just had, should he be recognised as one of the greatest Premier League midfielders of all-time?

When you think of the greatest Premier League midfielders, you immediately think of players like Steven Gerrard, Paul Scholes, Frank Lampard, David Silva, Patrick Vieira, Roy Keane and Kevin De Bruyne.

All those players performed at such a high level for a number of seasons and were the best in their position for a very long time as well.

Fernandes has been at United for six and a half seasons and has made such a difference to them ever since with his creativity and ability to score goals.

He's carried the team on his own for pretty much the entire time he's spent at the club and without him I'm not sure where they would be.

He's scored 71 goals and registered 72 assists since he's been in the Premier League and when you look at those numbers alongside the impact he has on United when he plays, there is definitely a strong case for him to be up there among the greatest midfielders to have played in the Premier League.

Major changes behind the scenes needed at Spurs

Spurs fans can now breathe a sign of relief now that they're safe for another season in the Premier League after beating Everton on the final day to stay up.

But everyone associated with the club will know that this season has been far from good enough and will demand a much better season next season.

For that to happen, major changes are needed behind the scenes because the club has been poorly run for a long time due to poor recruitment, poor decision making in terms of appointing managers and a lack of a play or vision.

The club have declined massively since reaching that Champions League final as they've gone through a number of managers including some big names ones in Mourinho and Conte and the majority of signings they've made haven't improved the team.

The recruitment team needs to go along with the people who are making the decisions and the owners because their running of the club was what led them to being in this situation.

West Ham in need of a refresh

West Ham's 14 year stay in the Premier League was brought to end on the final day after Spurs' win over Everton sealed their relegation despite the Hammers winning their game against Leeds.

Their relegation was probably deserved because they had a terrible start to the seasons and things did not get any better from that point onwards as they spent much of the season in and around the bottom three.

Their poor start to the season led to their fans protesting against their owners and the way the club was being run and especially over the last few years.

Since that night in Prague where they won the Europa Conference League, West Ham have only gone backwards as a club as their recruitment has been poor and so have the decisions made behind the scenes.

Now that they'll be in the Championship next season, all I can say is that they're in need of a refresh this summer and I say that because of how poorly the club has been run over the last few years.

Dropping into the Championship can help with that because it can help them start again as a football club by replacing the recruitment team, the people making the decisions at board room level and having a change in ownership which is what the fans want more than ever.

It will also allow them to get rid of players that don't want to be at the club because if they want to bounce back next season, they need to have players who are committed to the club so they have a unified dressing room.

That will help them free up the wage bill as they have a lot of players on big money contracts which they won't be able to pay because of their finances being reduced as a result of their relegation.

As well as new people behind the scenes, they may also need a manager on the pitch because of reports suggesting that Nuno Espirito Santo will be sacked within the next few days.

If Nuno does get the sack, the club will need a manager who will give the team a clear identity which is what they've lacked in recent years.
