Is Strand Larsen stepping up in Cunha's absence?

When Matheus Cunha was sent off for his headbutt in Wolves' FA Cup tie against Bournemouth, a lot of people were worrying about their survival chances because of how important Cunha is for them.

But there is now less worry about their survival chances as they might've found someone who can replace Cunha's goals in Jorgen Stand Larsen who netted twice in Wolves' win over Southampton at the weekend.

Can he step up in Cunha's absence?

His two goals against Southampton will definitely give him confidence that he can as goals are what give a striker confidence. Also with Cunha unavailable for the next few games through suspension, Strand Larsen will see Cunha's absence as an opportunity to become an important team player.

He has shown glimpses of his abilities since he's been at Wolves and has scored 9 goals so far this season, which isn't a bad return considering that Wolves have struggled for most of the season.

He'll surely bag a few more between now and the end of the season and especially whilst Cunha's suspended. If he can score in Wolves' next few games until Cunha returns, we could be saying that he is stepping up in the Brazilian's absence.

Are Fulham Champions League contenders?

The race for European football has been more open than it ever has been this season with pretty much the entire top 10 all in contention.

One of the teams in contention is Fulham who currently sit in 8th and are four points outside the top four following their win over Spurs at the weekend.

Could they be Champions League contenders?

Their form has been patchy for most of the season in that they've won a few games, drawn some and then lost a few. But they'll still feel that they have a chance as they're only four points off and the race for the top four has been very open this season.

I asked earlier in the season if they were European contenders and they have been by staying in the top 10 for most of the season, and in touching distance of the European places.

Their current squad might possibly be the best one they've had in the Premier League and better than the team that finished 7th in 2009, which had Clint Dempsey, Bobby Zamora and Danny Murphy.

There will be a number of twists and turns in the race for Champions League football, but if Fulham can keep themselves in touching distance of the top four, they could be contenders.

Man United must keep Fernandes

Everyone will know that Man United need a squad clear-out this summer because of the season they're having this season.

There are of course a lot of players they need to sell, but there are also players they should keep and Bruno Fernandes undoubtedly one of them.

He's their most creative player and whenever they need someone to deliver a brilliant moment of quality, Fernandes has often been the player to provide it.

He ran the show for them against Real Sociedad on Thursday with his hat trick and he put in another excellent display on Sunday against Leicester, where he scored the winner and up the goals for Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho.

He has had a share of criticism this season for both his performances and abilities as a leader, but there is no doubting his quality and without him United would most likely be in a relegation battle.

He has made such a difference for them since he's been at the club and although he hasn't had the same influence on the team as he did when he first arrived, he is still their talisman and most important player because of what he offers in terms of goals and assists.

Because of this and the fact that United have no one else like him in their team, they simply have to keep him this summer whilst they clear-out the majority of the squad.
