Could Brentford be in for a nightmare summer?
Brentford are having a decent season this season as they're currently 11th with an outside chance of finishing in the European places.
But despite the decent season they're having, they could potentially have a a difficult summer ahead of them as they could lose manager Thomas Frank, and their two best players in Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa
Could they be in for a nightmare summer?
Their manager will no doubt attract the attention of some clubs in the Premier League because of the job he's done since he's been with the Bees. He's established Brentford as a Premier League side since he got them promoted and the job he's done since has been remarkable.
Clubs looking for a new manager this summer will surely be looking at Frank because of the job he's at Brentford, and will be thinking that he's the kind of manager they want at their football club.
Mbeumo and Wissa on the other hand will probably be on the radar of the bigger clubs because of the season they're both having.
They've both scored a combined total of 34 goals this season with Mbeumo scoring 18 and Wissa scoring 16 and when you score that amount of goals for a mid-table club like Brentford, the bigger clubs in the league are bound to come calling for their signatures.
The Bees will of course want to keep hold of their manager and two best players because of how important they both are. But they could struggle to do so for clear reasons and if they did lose both, it could be a nightmare summer for them.
Ollie Watkins performance sent a message to Emery
Ollie Watkins said on Sky Sports after Aston Villa's win over Newcastle that he was fuming after being dropped from the team against PSG in midweek and understandably so as like every striker, he wants to start every game.
He definitely sent a message to his manager Unai Emery with the performance he put in against Newcastle as he caused the Magpies all kinds of problems with his pace and runs in behind, and both scored and assisted a goal each with his goal coming after 33 seconds.
The message he sent to his manager no doubt said that he should've started against PSG and his performance against Newcastle showed that.
Leicester relegation on the board
Leicester's relegation was confirmed at the weekend following their defeat to Liverpool and when I look back at their relegation, the majority of the blame will be directed at the board.
The decision to sack Steve Cooper in November in some peoples eyes turned out to be the wrong decision as the club at the time were outside the relegation zone, and had a manager who had managed in the Premier League before.
The decision to appoint Ruud Van Nistelrooy off the back of a three game spell as interim Man United manager definitely turned out to be the wrong decision as they've got worse under his management. They struggled badly at both ends of the pitch and especially going forward as they went nine games at home without scoring a goal.
But in all fairness to Van Nistelrooy, he wasn't backed to bring in new players in January and the board have to take the blame for that as well as for the decision to sack Cooper and replace with with Van Nistelrooy, who had no experience in managing a side in a relegation battle.
The fans haven't been happy with the board for the last few months and they once again expressed their frustration towards them before their defeat to Liverpool, where a plane was flown above the stadium with a message attached saying "King Power Clueless Sack The Board".
Leicester are definitely a club who have lost their way and I'd say that has been the case since they won the FA Cup in 2021. They were a club on the up around that time as they were a side challenging for Europe after achieving back to back 5th placed finishes.
They finished 8th in the Premier League the season after winning the FA Cup followed by two relegations either side of a promotion winning campaign.
Many changes are needed both on and off the pitch if they're to bounce back next season.
Race for Champions League to go down to last day
This Premier League season hasn't been the most exciting of seasons with the race for the Champions League being the only thing that is likely to go down to the last day of the season.
I think it will go down to the last day of the season as it's currently looking very tight up there and I can see it staying that way for the rest of the season.
Chelsea and Aston Villa are both level on 57 points, whilst the teams above them in Man City, Newcastle and Nottingham Forest are all separated by just a point with City having 58 points, Newcastle - 59, and Forest - 60.
Some of the teams involved play each other with Man City playing Aston Villa tomorrow, and Chelsea set to play both Newcastle and Forest in two of their remaining fixtures. The results from those games could determine who finishes in the top five and who doesn't.
They all have games that they'll see as winnable between now and the end of the season and if they all win those winnable games, the race will definitely go down to the last day and we could be set for a very close finale.
