Key Points of the Weekend

Ipswich lacked Premier League experience

Ipswich's relegation was confirmed at the weekend following their 3-0 defeat at Newcastle and when I look back at their relegation, all I can say is that they lacked Premier League experience.

I knew this would be the case with them at the start of the season as the majority of their squad were with them in League 1 a few seasons ago.

They were in a lot of their games this season and showed more fight than the other two newly-promoted sides in Southampton and Leicester. But their lack of Premier League experience was what cost them in the end.

They dropped 28 points from winning positions this season with only Southampton dropping more and one reason for this has to be their lack of Premier League experience.

That is because to win games in the Premier League, you need to be able to you need to be able to see games out and hold on to leads and having Premier League experience is key to that because you need that Premier League knowhow in order to see games out.

Ipswich didn't have enough of that as they've won just four times all season and dropped many points from winning positions.

Evanilson yellow card decision should've stayed

Evanilson was sent off for what looked like a reckless challenge on Noussair Mazraoui in Bournemouth's draw against Man United on Sunday after it was originally given as a yellow card.

I think the referee should've stuck with his original decision as Evanilson slipped in the lead up to the challenge.

The challenge was dangerous as Evanilson's right foot was high and could've broken Mazraoui's leg. But it's the slip that made the challenge look dangerous and impact the way Evanilson went into the challenge.

The red card would've been the correct decision had Evanilson not slipped but as he did, I think the referee should've stuck with his original decision and given Evanilson the yellow card.

Liverpool will still need strengthen despite title win

Liverpool finally got the title secured over the weekend and they did in style by thumping Spurs 5-1 at Anfield and showing why they're champions.

But despite winning the title that they deserved to win, they will still need to strengthen over the summer if they're to challenge again next season.

This is because there are one or two areas in their squad that will need addressing in the summer with a left back and a centre forward being the main two. They will look to bring in players in other positions as back up's to the players they already have, but a new left back and centre forward will be near the top of their shopping list this summer.

They need a new left back because Robertson is not the player he was a few seasons ago and his performances this season show it. They need a new centre forward because Darwin Nunez isn't clinical enough, Diogo Jota can't stay fit, and they were heavily reliant on Mo Salah's goals this season. Bringing a new centre forward will help ease the burden on their Egyptian talisman.

Another reason why they'll need to strengthen is because Arsenal and Man City will be stronger next season. The reds won the title so convincingly this season because they were more consistent and both City and Arsenal being miles off the pace.

Both teams will definitely be busy in the market this summer and especially City, who are in need of a squad refresh due to the season they're having and the fact that they have an ageing squad.

Pep Guardiola will be angry with the season his side have had this season and knowing the kind of manager he is, he'll be determined to get City back to the top and to being the team they were.

Arsenal may be likely to finish 2nd this season, but they were nowhere near Liverpool all season with injuries and their lack of a goal scorer costing them.

A goal scoring centre forward will be at the top of Mikel Arteta's shopping list this summer and I'm expecting him to bring one in as that player is all they need to be serious contenders again.
