Should Fulham's disallowed goal have been given?

VAR was back in the spotlight over the weekend and especially during Fulham's 2-0 defeat at Chelsea where Josh King had a goal controversially disallowed due to a foul in the build to the goal.

Should the disallowed goal have been given?

VAR decided to disallow the goal because Rodrigo Muniz appeared to stamp on Trevoh Chalobah's foot whilst performing a piece of skill in the build up to the goal.

Whilst there is a reason to disallow the goal, there is also a reason to give the goal as there was no other place for Muniz to place his foot whilst he was performing the piece of skill.

The stamp on Chalobah was accidental as Muniz had no idea that Chalobah's foot was in that spot and it wasn't his intention to foul him.

A stamp on any player would be given as a foul in most scenarios, but in this one the foul should not have been given because the stamp from Muniz on Chalobah was accidental.

Could win over Forest be a turning point for Graham Potter and West Ham?

The pressure has been mounting on West Ham boss Graham Potter in recent weeks following a poor start to season which saw them lose both of their opening two games conceding eight goals.

His team needed a result to ease the pressure on their manager and they got one by putting in a much improved performance against Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

Could this be a turning points for Potter and his team?

Potter changed his system against Forest as he set up with a back four instead of the back three he used in his side's previous two games and it worked as they looked better defensively and tougher to beat.

They were also more up for it as a team as they won their duels and showed more fight than they did in their opening two games. They had to really due to the performances they produced in both games.

Both the result and the performance will give the Hammers some much needed confidence heading into the international break and although they have some tricky fixtures coming up, they'll still need more good results to follow up the win over Forest so they can climb the table and ease the pressure on Potter.

Liverpool are the early favourites for the title

Many people had Liverpool down as the favourites for the title before the start of the season mainly because of the players they brought in during the summer.

Well they're certainly the early favourites for the title after winning all of their opening three league games including their win over Arsenal on Sunday.

They showed why they're champions against Arsenal by grinding out the win in a tough game courtesy of Dominik Szoboszlai's incredible free kick.

Many champions over the years have won games without playing at their brilliant best and Liverpool's win over Arsenal will give them a lot of confidence moving forward knowing that they can win games without playing at their best.

Their start to the season as a whole will also give them a lot of confidence that they can defend their title. I know there is still a long way to go and a lot can change but out of the teams that are likely to be challenging for the title this season, Liverpool at the moment look the best equipped to win it.

Palace showing that there is life without Eze

When Crystal Palace sold star man Eberechi Eze to Arsenal, a lot of people will have thought that Palace will struggle this season because of how influential and important he was to them.

But against Aston Villa they showed there is life without their former talisman by putting in a convincing performance to win 3-0.

Villa did have a spell where they put the pressure on Palace, but it was still a comfortable win for the Eagles as they caused Villa a number of problems and were the better side overall.

The nature of their performance will give them a lot of confidence moving forward knowing that they can win and win well without their former talisman.

They will want to bring in a replacement before the window closes, but they'll still be feeling confident of winning games without Eze on the pitch.

They've got other players in their team who can step up and if they get a replacement for Eze in before tonight's deadline, they'll be fine.
