Amorim surely on thin at at United now

I asked just two weeks ago if Amorim was under pressure following their 3-0defeat in the Manchester Derby.

I now think that he's on thin ice following another defeat and poor performance against Brentford where the same problems were once again on show.

Their midfield was again easily broken through and their defence again look disorganised and this is down to both the system and the personnel.

The system doesn't suit the team and the players don't fit the system as a lot of people including myself have been saying this season, yet he still uses it.

We all know he's never going to change his system as he has said so himself and his stubbornness could well be his downfall.

The longer he keeps playing that system, the same problems are going to be there and if he doesn't win against Sunderland next weekend, that could be the end for him.

Could Crystal Palace do a Leicester

Crystal Palace kept up their fine and unbeaten start to the season with their win over Liverpool on Saturday which moved them up to second in the table.

This led me to ask one question and one question only: Could Palace do a Leicester and win the Premier League?

The Eagles ended last season very strongly by avoiding defeat in all of their final six games and winning the FA Cup and they've carried that momentum into this season.

Leicester were the same as they ended the season before they won the league strongly by winning 7 of their final 9 games to stay up and they carried that form into the following season.

The only difference between the two teams however, is that Palace will have European football to contend with which will test their squad depth.

Their squad on paper doesn't look big enough to compete on both fronts and this could catch up with them later in the season due to the amount of games involved.

Their strong start to the season will give them confidence, but being in Europe could halt their momentum because of their lack of squad depth.

Olivier Glasner's side won't be thinking about winning the title as they'll keep their heads down and think about one game at a time just like Leicester did when they won the league.

But if they can keep up their strong start and manage the Thursday-Sunday schedule, you never know what could happen.

Will win over Fulham be a turning point for Villa?

It's been a flat start to the season for Aston Villa both in terms of their results and their overall performances.

But they finally got off the mark in the Premier League with their win over Fulham on Sunday where were much improved despite a slow start to the game.

Could this win be a turning point for them.

Villa's main issues this season have come in attack as their attacking players have struggled to connect with one another on the pitch and score goals.

There was none of that against Villa and especially in the second half as their link up play was improved compared to recent games and were more clinical.

Emiliano Buendia was the reason behind it as a lot of Villa's good play in the second half came through him after he came on at half time. His impact off the bench was instrumental to Villa winning the game as he made Villa look more like a team in the second half with his link up play.

This result will definitely give Villa confidence as winning games gives a team confidence and if they can carry this result into their next few games and their performances continue to improve, this result could prove to be a turning point for them.
