Key Points of the Weekend

Could Spurs be in a relegation battle?

Spurs' poor run of form extended to one win in eight games over the weekend following their draw at Burnley which leaves them in 14th place and eight points above the relegation zone.

Could they be in a relegation battle?

The reason why I'm asking this season question is because they have some tough games coming up with Man City, Man United, Newcastle and Arsenal in their next four games.

Three of those games are at home and knowing how poor they've been at home all season, I don't see them getting any points from those games.

I said last week that manager Thomas Frank is on thin ice and there is a chance that he might not get those games as the pressure on him has only increased further following the draw at Burnley.

With both West Ham and Forest winning over the weekend and Leeds getting a draw at Everton on Monday, Spurs might be starting to look over the shoulder and if the teams below them continue to pick up points and they fail to get anything from their tough run in, they could well be in a relegation fight.

Is Estevao Chelsea's new Eden Hazard?

Estevao has been one of Chelsea's shining lights this season at the age of just 18 and he impressed yet against against Crystal Palace on Sunday as he opened the scoring and caused Palace all kinds of problems with his pace and ability to run with the ball.

He's one of the most exciting young players in world football at the moment with the potential he has and is a similar player to former blues legend Eden Hazard.

Is he Chelsea's new Hazard?

Chelsea have never really replaced Eden Hazard since he left the club over six seasons ago as they haven't had that player who can take players on and drive the team up the pitch like he used to.

Estevao is a similar player to Hazard in that he's quick, isn't afraid to take players on, very skilful, and is at the heart of everything Chelsea do going forward.

He's also arguably the most gifted player they've had since Hazard because of the potential he has and Hazard was the same when he first arrived at Chelsea.

If he can continue to impress and get player as a player as his time with Chelsea progresses, he could well be the blues' new Hazard.

Is Michael Carrick making a case to get the job full time?

When Michael Carrick first took over at Man United I don't think anyone expected him to get anything from his first two games given the opposition he was up against in Man City and Arsenal.

He only went on and proved his doubters wrong by leading United to victory in both games and after doing so, a lot of people believe that he's putting himself in conversation for the manager's job full time.

Is he making a case to get the job full time?

He won't be thinking about getting the job on a full time basis because his focus is on getting United as high up the league as he can.

But the board might be starting to involve him as one of their candidates for the job because of the start he's made and the quality of teams he's beaten in each of his first two games in Man City and Arsenal.

The players may want him in charge on a permanent basis because they've enjoyed playing under him as he's given them the confidence to go out there and perform and is playing them in a system that suits them.

If he does want the job full time, his strong start will certainly give him confidence of getting it because winning games gives both a team and their manager confidence and especially against top sides like Man City and Arsenal.

If he can keep up his strong start and lead United to a strong end to the season, he could well get the job.
