Are Aston Villa's top four hopes in jeopardy and could Liverpool replace them?
Aston Villa's stuttering form continued on Friday following their defeat at Wolves and their current form now stands at two wins from their last six games.
They have since dropped down to 4th in the table following Man United's win over Crystal Palace on Sunday which left them just three points ahead of 5th placed Liverpool.
Are their top four hopes in jeopardy and could Liverpool replace them?
One factor behind Villa's stuttering form has without a doubt been injuries to key players including Boubacar Kamara, John McGinn and Youri Tielemans who are the players they've missed the most.
Kamara's ability to sniff out danger has been a big miss as they've missed his presence in front of the defence, McGinn's energy has been sorely missed and so has Tielemans' creativity.
They also have the Europa League to deal with and managing both that and the Premier League with the injuries they have will be very tough as their squad is not the biggest.
Liverpool are beginning to find some form following three straight wins which have given them confidence and the momentum is arguably with them in the race for Champions League football because of the recent form they've been in.
The reds have some winnable games coming up which they should win whereas Villa face Chelsea and Man United in their next two games.
If Villa lose to Chelsea in midweek and Liverpool win their game against Wolves, their top four place could well be in jeopardy and they'll also be behind Liverpool in the table as the reds have a superior goal difference.
Chelsea lack discipline
I wrote last week that Chelsea lack leaders and when I mentioned their reasons why, I didn't mention their lack of discipline.
The blues have had nine players sent off in all competitions this season with seven of them coming in the red card including Pedro Neto's dismissal on Sunday against Arsenal.
When a team has had as many red cards as they have this season, you have to say that they lack discipline and I probably should've brought this up last week when writing about their lack of leaders on the pitch.
Their lack of discipline definitely comes from a lack of leaders on the pitch because they don't have many players who can keep a cool head and calm everything down on the pitch.
Pedro Neto had already been booked before his dismissal against Arsenal and all he needed was someone to tell him to keep his cool and not to anything rash.
A lot of Chelsea's red cards this season have cost them results and Liam Rosenior must do something about this if they're to finish in the top four.
Is David Raya the best goalkeeper in the Premier League?
David Raya is on course to win a third consecutive Premier League golden glove this season and against Chelsea he pulled off some big and crucial saves to keep Arsenal in the game.
His performances against Chelsea got me asking if he's the best goalkeeper in the Premier League.
For the last few seasons I've said that Alisson is the best keeper in the league because he's arguably the best keeper in the world.
But I don't think Raya is that far behind him in terms of the best in the Premier League because of the amount of clean sheets he keeps and top class saves he makes in games.
He's definitely been the best keeper this season because he's kept more clean sheets than any other player and has kept Arsenal in games many times by making countless top class saves.
I personally still think that Alisson is the best in the Premier League but if Raya wins another golden glove and continues to makes those big and crucial saves for the rest of this season, he could maybe take over from Alisson as the best keeper in the Premier League.
