WEDNESDAY:
BRIGHTON V CRYSTAL PALACE
Brighton are in pole position for that final European spot which they currently occupy on goal difference. They've been one of the in-form teams in the league since the turn of the year and their form since then is why they're pushing for Europe.
Crystal Palace are very much the new Brighton in that they play some decent football but can't take their chances. They didn't register a single shot on target in each of their last three games and you begin to wonder when their next goal and win will come from.
The Eagles are just three points above the relegation zone which makes this one a must win for them. It's a game in hand for them and with a tough trip to Arsenal up next, they'll want to head in to that game with some confidence on board.
PREDICTION: 2-0
The last three meetings between these sides have all ended in draws. I don't see this one ending the same way because I think Brighton will win here. They're more ruthless in front of goal and are the side with more confidence on board.
SOUTHAMPTON V BRENTFORD
Southampton are back at the bottom of the league but they have picked up some crucial results recently which will give them something to build on.
They were much improved defensively against Man United on Sunday with keeper Gavin Bazunu making some crucial saves. But they missed some big chances at the other end and their lack of cutting edge up top could be what sends them down.
The Saints were beaten 3-0 in the reverse fixture with the main talking point from the game being then-manager Nathan Jones' post match comments. Those comments lead him to being sacked and Ruben Selles will need to be careful what he says in his post match interview if his side lose here.
Like Southampton's home form Brentford's away form hasn't been brilliant either. They might have gone 12 games unbeaten before losing to Everton but they only won twice on the road during that run. Those two victories are their only wins away from home all season.
PREDICTION: 0-2
Despite not being as good away as they are at home, I'm backing Brentford to bounce back here. Southampton have a terrible home record and because of that I think the Bees will take the points here.
