2025 has been an up and down year for a lot of clubs and players in what has been another incredible year of football. After another brilliant year of football, I've decided to pick y best teams both in the Premier League and the world.
PREMIER LEAGUE TEAM OF THE YEAR

GK: DAVID RAYA (ARSENAL) – Raya won a share of the golden glove last season and has kept the most clean sheets in the Premier League so far this season. He made many crucial saves right throughout the year as Arsenal had the best defence.
RB: JURRIEN TIMBER (ARSENAL) – Timber for me was the Premier League’s best right back in 2025 as he put in good performances both defensively and offensively all year round. He made the right spot his own in the Arsenal team this year and he’s arguably right now the best right back in the Premier League.
CB: MARC GUEHI (CRYSTAL PALACE) – Guehi was arguably the best centre back in 2025 by putting in solid performances all year round. Palace were very lucky to keep hold of him in the summer after his move to Liverpool broke down and they’ll well to keep hold of him in the new year.
CB: GABRIEL (ARSENAL) – William Saliba has had another solid year for Arsenal, but Gabriel for me was the better of the two as he was a bit more influential. He made vital contributions at both ends of the pitch in crucial goals at one end and made key contributions at the other. His solid dis plays at the back helped Arsenal keep up their brilliant defensive record.
LB: MARC CUCURELLA (CHELSEA) – Cucurella silenced his doubters in 2025 by putting many good performances at both ends throughout the year. He made many vital interventions defensively whilst going forward he always offered a threat. He’s arguably the best left back in the Premier League right now.
CDM: MOISES CAICEDO (CHELSEA) – Caicedo developed into a top class defensive midfielder in 2025 by making countless crucial interventions throughout the entire year. He’s made such a difference to Chelsea when he’s been on the pitch because of his tenacity and work rate off the ball.
CDM: DECLAN RICE (ARSENAL) – Rice turned into a box-to-box midfielder in 2025 by covering every blade of grass and making key interventions at both ends of the pitch. His work rate and ability to both sides of the game have taken Arsenal onto another level and in him, the Gunners finally have a new Patrick Vieira.
CAM: MORGAN ROGERS (ASTON VILLA) – Rogers won the PFA Young Player of the Season award last season and has been one of the players of the season so far this season. His form this year has made him a regular in the England team and if he keeps up the current form he’s in into the new year, he could start at the World Cup in the no.10 role.
RW: BRYAN MBEUMO (MAN UNITED) – Mbeumo was the best right winger over the course of the entire year as Bukayo Saka missed a chunk of the year through injury and Mohamed Salah only delivered for half the year. Mbeumo had a brilliant first half of the year with Brentford which earned his move to Man United where he has been by far their best signing one of their better players this season.
LW: ANTOINE SEMENYO (BOURNEMOUTH) – Semenyo scored more goals than any another left sided attacker in 2025 with 14 which is why he’s in this team. His form this season has already got some of the big clubs interested and Bournemouth will do well to keep hold of him in the new year.
ST: ERLING HAALAND (MAN CITY) – Haaland carried City for the majority of the year with the goals he scored and especially this season. He scored more goals than any other player in 2025 and he already appears to have the golden boot wrapped up.
MANAGER: MIKEL ARTETA (ARSENAL) – Arteta has guided his Arsenal side to the top of the Premier League this season after leading them to another second placed finish last season. With a much strong squad at his disposal this season, he’ll be hoping to go one better in 2026 by winning leading the Gunners to their first Premier League title in 22 seasons.
WORLD TEAM OF THE YEAR

GK: GIANLUIGI DONNARUMMA (MAN CITY/ITALY) - Donnarumma for me was the best keeper in the world in 2025 as he made many crucial saves right throughout the year. He played a key role for PSG as they won the treble last season and has been a solid presence between the sticks since he’s been at Man City.
RB: ACHRAF HAKIMI (PSG/MOROCCO) – Hakimi is probably the best right back in the world and he certainly was in 2025 as heby making key contributions at both ends all year round. His vital contributions played a key role in PSG winning the treble last season.
CB: MARQUINHOS (PSG/BRAZIL) – Marquinhos captained PSG to the treble last season and he was a major part of it as well through both his leadership and performances on the pitch. He made key contributions at the both ends many key interventions right throughout the year and was arguably the best central defender in 2025.
CB: GABRIEL (ARSENAL/BRAZIL) – Gabriel was effective in both boxes right throughout 2025 as he popped up with some crucial goals at one end and made many crucial interventions at the other. He grew into one of the best defenders in the world this year by putting gin solid performances all year round.
LB: NUNO MENDES (PSG/PORTUGAL) – Mendes was by far the best left back in the world in 2025 as he played an integral role in PSG winning the treble. He also won the Nations League with Portugal and ran up and down that left hand side all year long due to his incredible energy and work rate.
CDM: VITINHA (PSG/PORTUGAL) – Vitinha finished 3rd in the Ballon D’or standings in 2025 and deservedly so after a stellar year. He played a key role in PSG winning the treble through his work rate and ability to dictate play and he also helped Portugal win the Nations League.
CM: DECLAN RICE (ARSENAL/ENGLAND) – Rice really developed into one of the best midfielders in the world in 2025 by covering every blade of grass and making vital contributions at both ends of the pitch. He’s now very much a complete midfield player because of what he can offer at both ends of the pitch.
CM: JOAO NEVES (PSG/PORTUGAL) - Neves was one of the breakout stars of 2025 as he played a starring role in PSG winning the treble. He popped up with a number of crucial contributions throughout the year both defensively and offensively and he’s no doubt got an exciting future ahead of him.
RW: LAMINE YAMAL (BARCELONA/SPAIN) – Yamal is already looking like a world class player at the age of 18 and in 2025 his game went onto another level. He played a key role for Barcelona as they won the La Liga title and Copa Del Rey and if he can have brilliant year next year, he could win his first Ballon D’or.
LW: OUSMANE DEMBELE (PSG/FRANCE) – Dembele had to be in this team simply because he won the Ballon D’or and deservedly so. He finally began to fulfil his potential in 2025 as he played a starring role for PSG as they won the treble with his goals playing a crucial part in that.
ST: KYLIAN MBAPPE (REAL MADRID/FRANCE) – Mbappe scored more goals than any other player in 2025 with 59 as he stepped up as Ream Madrid’s new talisman. He’s been in fine form this season despite Real not having the best of seasons and if he can carry this form into the new year, Real could still have a successful season.
MANAGER: LUIS ENRIQUE (PSG) – Enrique finally delivered what the PSG owners wanted in 2025 in the Champions League as part of the treble they won. He took PSG from being a team of individuals to an actual cohesive team by moving on the egos and building an exciting young team which could dominate Europe for the next few years.
