TUESDAY:

BRIGHTON V NOTTINGHAM FOREST

Brighton are yet to win a game under Roberto De Zerbi and I thought he would've got that first win on Friday night against Brentford. They did have chances to score in that game but overall they weren't able to take them and they got punished for that.

They haven't repeated their performance against Liverpool in the other games they've had under De Zerbi which has surprised me as I was very much expecting them to do so. It will of course take time for De Zerbi to find his best team but I still thought they would've got something from their last two games.

Nottingham Forest are looking like a team heading toward relegation in that they have the second worst defence in the league and are not scoring enough goals. You only get one outcome if you put the two together and that outcome is relegation.

They were disappointing in the final third against Wolves at the weekend as there was no one in the box to tuck the ball home whenever they got crosses into that area. They need to address this and quickly otherwise they will go down.

PREDICTION: 2-0

I'm backing Brighton to win here because I can see them make the most of Forest's shortcomings at both ends of the pitch. The Seagulls may not have scored in each of their last two games but with Forest having a leaky defence, I can see them take their chance here.

CRYSTAL PALACE V WOLVES

Crystal Palace were passive against Leicester at the weekend and were lucky to come away with a point. Their midfield was broken through many times during the game and they didn't offer a lot in the final third. This will no doubt concern Patrick Vieira and it will be something he'll need to address.

Wolves picked up a much needed win at the weekend against Nottingham Forest which moved them out of the relegation zone. That result will hopefully give them the confidence to kick start their season and they'll more results like that to push themselves up the league.

They've been in talks with Nuno Espirito Santo over the last few days to become their new manager and I think that appointment could go two ways. The fans will of course welcome him back because of what he did for them in his first spell but given Wolves' current league position and problems in front of goal, it could turn out to be a disappointment.

PREDICTION: 2-0

I'm backing Palace to bounce back here because they're reasonably strong at home and have more goals in them and Wolves do. They were poor against Leicester at the weekend but I still think they'll put in a better performance and win the game.

WEDNESDAY:

BOURNEMOUTH V SOUTHAMPTON

Bournemouth are still unbeaten under Gary O'Neil and I'm starting to get the feeling that they're going to ok this season. Especially if they give him the full time managers job because of how much they've improved under his management. The players enjoy playing under him and the fans also love him after cheering his name against Fulham.

Southampton go into this game in the bottom three and out of form having not won since the end of August. They have had moments where they have played well in some of their games this season but haven't been clinical enough in front of goal.

They haven't had a clinical no.9 since Danny Ings left for Aston Villa in the summer of last year and none of their current striker hit the bill. Armando Broja did ok during his loan spell last season but Adam Armstrong and Che Adams aren't regular goal scorers.

PREDICTION: 2-1

I fancy Bournemouth to win here because they have more confidence on board than their opponents. They're still unbeaten under Gary O'Neil and I can see them keep up their unbeaten start under him with another win here.

BRENTFORD V CHELSEA

Brentford thumped Chelsea 4-1 the last time these two sides met with the Bees coming from behind to win the game and the goals coming in the second half. That result will give them some belief going into this game but they'll know they'll be facing a tougher test this time round with the blues in great form under Graham Potter.

Chelsea had to weather a storm against Aston Villa at the weekend as Villa created a lot of chances forcing Kepa Arrizabalaga into some good saves. But the most important thing was that they got the win and they're still unbeaten under Graham Potter.

Graham Potter won both of his games against Brentford last season with Brighton which will give his side even more confidence going into this game. He'll know how to set his team up as a result of doing the double over them last season and he'll believe that it will work like it did last season.

PREDICTION: 0-2

I'm backing Chelsea to win here simply because of the current form they're in. Brentford will give it a go but with the quality that Chelsea have, they should win this one.

LIVERPOOL V WEST HAM

Liverpool looked very much like their old selves against City at the weekend with their work rate off the ball much improved and their backline looking more organised than it has done all season. They needed to step up and they did exactly that with the performance they put in.

That result will no doubt give them a lot of confidence going into this game along with the performance and it's now a question of whether they can follow it up. They haven't been able to follow big results this season and they have the opportunity here to do so.

West Ham and David Moyes both have a poor record at Anfield with the Hamers winning there just once in the Premier League and Moyes yet to register a win there. Both will want to end their Anfield hoodoos but they'll know that it won't be straightforward.

PREDICTION: 2-1

I'm backing Liverpool to follow up their win over City with another win here mainly because of West Ham's poor record at Anfield. The Hammers will make it a close game but I think Liverpool will just edge it here.

NEWCASTLE V EVERTON

Newcastle have won 3 out of their last 4 homes games against Everton including their 3-1 win last season which was the result that gave them the confidence to turn their season around. They've kick on ever since that result and their recent record here will give them a lot of confidence along with their current form.

Everton did ok in the first half against Spurs at the weekend as they defended well and had some good chances that they should've taken. They'll no doubt be kicking themselves for that as it might've been a different game had they taken those chances.

The Toffees have lost a bit of momentum recently following back to back defeats to Man United and Spurs which to be fair were games they weren't expecting to get anything from. All Frank Lampard will be focused on here will be to get his side back on track with a win to regain that momentum.

PREDICTION: 2-0

I'm going for a Newcastle win here because of the recent record they have against Everton at St James' Park. They're in great form, strong in all areas and because of that I think they'll win here.

MAN UNITED V TOTTENHAM

Man United were disappointing in the final third against Newcastle at the weekend as they barely got balls into the box from wide areas. The only time they got a cross into the box was towards the end of the game when Marcus Rashford headed wide in the closing stages.

They missed Christian Eriksen in that one as he is someone who would've got crosses into the box if he was available. As he's likely to miss this one as well, United could again struggle as they're up against a Spurs side who are well drilled defensively.

Spurs had to be patient against Everton at the weekend and that patience eventually paid off when they brought on Yves Bissouma who brought a lot of energy to the midfield. This then enabled Spurs to play Kane and Son together as a two and it worked as they started to ask questions of the Everton defence.

They might have to play the 3-5-2 formation they played in the second half against Everton in this one as they're without both Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski. They do have Bryan Gil and Lucas Moura available to them but with that formation working for them in recent games, they may as well use it here.

PREDICTION: 0-2

I'm backing Spurs to win here because they have more of a goal threat than United do at the moment. They don't have a huge amount of creativity in their side but with Kane in top form and Son beginning to make a difference, Spurs should have enough to take the points here.

THURSDAY:

FULHAM V ASTON VILLA

Fulham showed character to come from behind twice and snatch a point against Bournemouth at the weekend where Aleksandar Mitrovic marked his return from injury with a goal from the penalty spot. He may have looked a bit rusty but the Cottagers will still be glad to have their striker back and back among the goals.

Aston Villa played well in their defeat to Chelsea at the weekend and Steven Gerrard will be hoping that his side can carry that performance into this game. They created a lot of chances in that game but the only thing that was missing was a goal and goals have been in short supply for Villa this season.

This is a game that Villa must win because of the pressure Steven Gerrard is under and their current league position. I do hope he turns things around but with most Villa fans turning on him, he might not have the time to do that.

PREDICTION: 2-1

I'm going for a Fulham win here because Villa do have mistakes in them defensively. Their defeat to Chelsea showed that with Tyrone Mings being at fault for the first goal and with Fulham being a team who look dangerous going forward, I can see them make the most of Villa's defensive frailties.

LEICESTER V LEEDS

Leicester will be without James Maddison for this one as he's suspended after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season with that dive against Crystal Palace. It was a stupid thing for him to do and it could cost his team the game here because of how important he's been for them this season.

The Foxes will be kicking themselves for not taking their chances against Palace at the weekend and there were many good ones. But keeping back to back clean sheets at home will give them some confidence and something to build on going into this game which is again at home.

Leeds have played brilliantly at times in recent games but haven't been able to match the results with their performances. Their defeat to Arsenal was certainly one of those games as they had a lot of chances but couldn't take any of them.

Patrick Bamford looked lively in that game when he came on but will feel disappointed with his penalty miss. He's impressed whenever he's come off the bench this season where he's given Leeds a focal point in their attack and a goal threat. If they can keep him fit and get him scoring goals, they should have enough to stay out of another relegation scrap.

PREDICTION: 0-3

I'm backing Leeds to win here because Leicester can be vulnerable defensively and I can see them exploit that weakness. They're a good team to watch which they recent games have shown and I think they'll finally get a win that their performances have deserved.
