Front three's have been a thing of present for a number of years now and they've been one of the most talked about trends in the game ever since.
A lot of teams in Europe now player with a three up top instead of a two including some of the best teams in Europe who have had a lot of success by playing with a front three.
Clubs like Barcelona and Real Madrid have been known for playing a front three and have had a lot of success by playing that formation alongside the likes of Liverpool and Man City as well.
The modern era has seen many iconic attacking trios over the years and they consist of a lone striker and two wide men who either play as inside forwards by cutting inside, or wide wingers who get crosses into the box.
The trios in the list are among the finest the game has ever seen and here it is:
Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo
Arjen Robben, Robert Lewandowski, Franck Ribery
Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane
Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Neymar
Carlos Tevez, Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo
Lionel Messi, Samuel Eto'o, Thierry Henry
Kylian Mbappe, Edinson Cavani, Neymar
Raheem Sterling, Sergio Aguero, Leroy Sane
Dennis Bergkamp, Thierry Henry, Robert Pires
David Beckham, Raul, Luis Figo
David Beckham, Raul, Luis Figo
This trio had to be in 10th because they didn't win much together with the 2003 Spanish Super Cup being the only trophy they won.
They didn't become a front three until maybe halfway during their first season together as Beckham was used in central midfield when he first joined Real Madrid due to Figo playing on the right hand side, which was Beckham's best position.
But he was soon moved to his more natural position with Figo being switched to the other wing to allow Beckham to play on the right hand side.
They should've won more together due to the calibre of players they were and the reason why they didn't win much was probably because Real had too many superstars in their team which led to a lack of cohesion.
Kylian Mbappe, Edinson Cavani, Neymar
This front three were a deadly trio on their day as they tore Ligue 1 defences to shreds for three straight seasons.
They weren't always a settled trio though as there was at times conflict between them and especially early on between Cavani and Neymar, who argued over who should take a penalty in one game against Lyon.
Whilst they won all those trophies in France, they didn't win the Champions League and was either down to the team having too many egos or not having the mentality to win it.
They were still an incredible trio to watch though as they all scored goals and tore teams to shreds. But they didn't deliver enough on the biggest stage and their failure to do so was what held them back from being a world class trio.
Raheem Sterling, Sergio Aguero, Leroy Sane
These three were incredible together at Man City and especially during the Centurions season where they were such a joy to watch.
They had everything you wanted from a front three in goals, work rate and the ability to link up with one another which they did many times during the Centurions season.
Aguero was the main goal getter whilst Sterling and Sane were the ones who provided the pace and creativity out wide whilst also chipping in with a number of goals.
Had they played together longer, they would've been higher up the list because of how deadly a trio they were.
Dennis Bergkamp, Thierry Henry, Robert Pires
This front three was Arsenal's trio during the Invincibles season and the chemistry they all had with one another was a key part in them going the entire season undefeated.
They didn't start as a front three as the Gunners started with Henry and Bergkamp as a front two but they would form a front three out of possession.
They were all players who could both create and score goals, but it was Henry was the main goal getter with Pires and Bergkamp providing the creativity for him.
Their contributions and chemistry on the pitch played a key role in the success they achieved together at Arsenal and especially during the Invincibles season.
Arjen Robben, Robert Lewandowski, Franck Ribery
This front three achieved a lot of success during their time together at Bayern Munich as they won 5 Bundesliga titles and two German Cups.
They tore Bundesliga defences apart throughout their time together at Bayern with Robben and Ribery providing the pace and width out wide and Lewandowski being the one who got most of the goals due to him being the centre forward.
Robben and Ribery did chip in with goals as they had the ability to cut inside but they were mostly the providers for Lewandowski's goals by getting the ball into the box time and time again for him.
Despite the success they achieved together, they weren't able to win the Champions League and even when Pep Guardiola was their manager. They might've been higher had they won it because of how long they played together and the success they achieved.
Carlos Tevez, Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo
This front three were absolutely lethal together at Man United as they all scored goals and caused defences both in the Premier League Europe many problems.
As well as scores goals, they could also rotate positions with Rooney dropping deep to both create chances and allow space for Tevez and Ronaldo to score and run into.
A lot of people have them down as the greatest front three in Premier League history because of how deadly a forward line they were on their day and especially in their first season together.
Their goals and chemistry on the pitch played a massive role in them winning both the Premier League and the Champions League in their first season in 2008 which was their only productive season together.
They did win another Premier League title the following season, but they didn't play as regularly together as Tevez was often rotated with Dimitar Berbatov.
Lionel Messi, Samuel Eto'o, Thierry Henry
This trio won the treble with Barcelona in 2009 where they scored a combined total of 100 goals across all competitions.
They often rotated when they played together with Messi coming inside and dropping deep into the false nine role to allow Eto'o and Henry to run into the space he left for them to run into, Henry drifting in from the left hand side and Eto'o moving out to the right.
They only had one season together as a regular trio because of Eto'o departing for Inter Milan in the following season. But they still deserve to be this high up because of the goals they scored and how good a trio they were during that treble winning season in 2009.
Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane
This front three is slightly different compared to the others on the list in that they operated in a different way.
Firmino in the false 9 role would drop deep to leave space for Salah and Mane to run into and it was his work off the ball that played a key role in this front three functioning.
Mane was the player who led the high press from the front due to his incredible pace and work rate whilst Salah was the one who would get most of the goals. But both players would share the role of main man at times as Mane often stepped up when Salah wasn't firing and vice versa.
This trio won everything on offer during their time together at Liverpool and their chemistry played a massive role in the success they achieved together.
Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo
BBC, as they were known as during their time together, won four Champions League's in five seasons at Real Madrid alongside a La Liga title in 2016 and the Copa del Rey in 2014.
They were incredible in their first season together as they won the Champions League with the goals they scored and chemistry on the pitch playing a massive role in that.
Benzema would often drop deep to both create chances and leave space for Ronaldo and Bale to score and run into respectively.
Ronaldo was of course the main man of the trio as he was Real's most influential player due to the amount of goals he scored.
Bale meanwhile provided both goals and assists as well as a threat in behind due to his incredible pace and power.
Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Neymar
MSN had to be my no.1 because they were just absolutely frightening to play against on their day and are for me the greatest attacking trio in the history of the game.
Whenever a team saw a Barcelona team sheet with those three names on it, they just knew that they were going to be in for a tough game because of the danger they could pose.
They won the treble in their first season together at Barcelona in 2015 including the La Liga title, Copa del Rey and the Champions League and they would go on to achieve more success and establish themselves as the best attacking trio in Europe.
I wish they played together longer as they only had three seasons together at Barca and had they had longer together, they would've further cemented themselves as the greatest attacking trio in the history of football.
