What Each Premier League Club Needs This Summer

The World Cup is over. That means it won't be long till the new domestic season kicks off and clubs are already back for pre-season and getting deals done in the market.

With the new season kicking off next month; What does each club need this summer?

ARSENAL - Striker

Arsenal may have arguably the strongest squad in the Premier League, but if there is one area that needs addressing it's their centre forward department. Viktor Gyokeres did have a decent debut season last season, but they could do with an alternative for him to use in different games depending on the opposition.

ASTON VILLA - Attacking Midfielder

Villa need to replace Morgan Rogers following his big money move to Chelsea which has left a big hole in their attack. They definitely should get a replacement in because of the amount of money they got for Rogers and maybe another one because they're back in the Champions League and need a big enough squad to compete on both fronts.

BOURNEMOUTH - Centre Back

The departure of Marcos Senesi has left a big hole in the Cherries backline and needs to be replaced. With the Cherries in Europe this season, they may as well bring in two centre backs because they'll need a big enough squad to compete both in Europe and the Premier League.

BRENTFORD - Defensive Midfielder

Jordan Henderson's departure has left Vitaly Janelt as the Bees' only recognised defensive midfielder and they need another one as cover. They do have players who can fill in this position, but the Bees should still look to get in someone who is recognised in this position.

BRIGHTON - Striker

Danny Welbeck may have had a clinical season last season, but he will be turning 36 during the season and because of this the Seagulls should look to bring in someone for the longer term. They might have to replace Welbeck overall as he appears to be on his way to Chelsea.

CHELSEA - Left Back

The blues need to replace Marc Cucurella following his move to Real Madrid which has left Jorrel Hato as their only recognised left back. New boss Xabi Alonso will want to give opportunities to Hato, but if his side want to challenge near the top of the Premier League, they need a more quality option to start at left back.

COVENTRY - Centre Back

The Sky Blues might've had the best defence in the Championship last season, but the Premier League is one big step up and if they're to stay up, they need defenders who are proven in the Premier League. Coventry don't have a lot of Premier League experience in their side and especially in their defence and among the many things a club needs to survive in the Premier League, a strong defence is one of them.

CRYSTAL PALACE - Centre Back

After losing Marc Guehi to Man City in January, Palace are on the verge of losing another centre back in Maxence Lacroix who is on his way to Chelsea. This makes buying a centre back a top priority for the Eagles this summer and with the club once again in Europe after winning the Conference League last season, they might as well get more than one because they need a big enough squad to compete on both fronts which is something they didn't have last season.

EVERTON - Striker

Everton have been crying out for a clinical no.9 pretty much ever since Romelu Lukaku left nine years ago and their lack of one cost them at times last season. If they're to take that next step and push towards those European places they need that clinical centre forward.

FULHAM - Striker

The departure of Raul Jimenez has left Rodrigo Muniz as the Cottagers' only recognised centre forward and with Harry Wilson also gone, their attack is in desperate need of goals. A clinical striker has been what they've lacked since Aleksandar Mitrovic left and if they want to take that next step and push for Europe, they need that 10-15 goals a season striker.

HULL - Striker

Oli McBurnie might've had a clinical season in the Championship last season by scoring 18 goals, but he's yet to prove himself in the Premier League after scoring just 13 times across two spells with Sheffield United. Serej Jakirovic will want to stay loyal to him because of what he did last season, but if the Tigers are to stay up, they need someone more proven at the top level because if there is one thing every newly promoted club needs it's a clinical and proven centre forward.

IPSWICH - Striker

Despite winning promotion last season, Ipswich's strikers didn't score many goals between them with the majority of them coming from their wingers. If they're to stay up this season, they need to bring in a striker who is proven at the top level and can score 10-15 goals a season.

LEEDS - Striker

Leeds need an alternative for Dominic Calvert-Lewin as they lack a reliable back up for him. Joel Piroe didn't score a single goal last season and if Calvert-Lewin was to get injured as he has done for a lot of his career, they need someone who can come in and step up in his absence.

LIVERPOOL - Winger

The reds need to replace Mohamed Salah following his departure at the end of last season which has taken a chunk of goals out of their attack. Buying a replacement for Salah will no doubt be near or at the top of new boss Andoni Iraola's to-do list.

MAN CITY - Right Back

Matheus Nunes may have done a decent job at right back last season, but City still lack a recognised player in this position. Rico Lewis was out of favour last season and as he's very likely to be out of favour against this season, City should look to bring in a recognised right back.

MAN UNITED - Right Back

Right back is the only area that United need to address this summer because Diogo Dalot hasn't been exactly convincing over the last couple of seasons. If United are to challenge for major trophies this season, they'll need a more reliable right back.

NEWCASTLE - Central Midfielder

The midfield has already been identified as the area Newcastle need to strengthen in as they've already lost Sandro Tonali to Spurs and could potentially lose Bruno Guimaraes to Arsenal. If the latter does happen, they need to make sure that they have a replacement in before he goes so they can be ready for his departure.

NOTTINGHAM FOREST - Striker

Forest lacked a consistent goal scorer last season as they got sucked into a relegation battle. They will have Chris Wood back after he missed a huge chunk of last season out injured, but as Wood is getting on at the age of 35, they need someone younger who can lead their attack longer term.

SUNDERLAND - Striker

Despite the brilliant season they had last season, Sunderland's strikers didn't score a lot of goals and if they're to have another season like last season, they need to bring in a 10-15 goal a season striker. With the club in Europe this season, they'll probably look to bring in more than one because they'll need a big enough squad to compete on both fronts.

TOTTENHAM - Winger

Spurs have already spent well over £100 million this summer but if there is one position that needs addressing it's out wide. They lacked quality on the wings last season and if they're to improve on their terrible season last season, they need to bring wingers who can both create and score goals.
