GK: EMILIANO MARTINEZ (ARGENTINA) - Martinez has been a solid presence between the sticks all tournament for Argentina in making big and crucial saves at vital moments. He kept Argentina in games on many occasions and his solid performances were crucial to the Argentines going all the way.

RB: ACHRAF HAKIMI (MOROCCO) - Hakimi has shown why he's one of the best full backs around at this World Cup in being solid at both ends of the pitch. He was solid defensively and looked a threat whenever he went forward with his pace and deliveries into the box. His contributions were to crucial to Morocco reaching the last four.

CB: ROMAIN SAISS (MOROCCO) - Morocco have arguably had the best defence at this World Cup and Saiss was a key part of it. He looked solid in every game he played by winning headers and making many vital interventions when his team needed him to. Wolves will surely be wondering why they let him leave last summer.

CB: JOSEF GVARDIOL (CROATIA) - Gvardiol has been excellent all tournament for Croatia with his solid performances at the back being a crucial part of their journey towards the semi finals. He's got a bright future ahead of him at 20 years of age and it wouldn't surprise me if a Premier League club snaps him up.

LB: THEO HERNANDEZ (FRANCE) - Hernandez has looked solid in both departments at this World Cup by being solid defensively and dangerous whenever he went forward. He registered a goal and 2 assists at this tournament and stepped up brilliantly in place of his brother Lucas.

CDM: SOFYAN AMRABAT (MOROCCO) - Amrabat has been everywhere at this World Cup with his energy and tenacity enabling him to win challenges almost anywhere on the pitch. Morocco were a tough side to beat because of his presence in front of their backline and I even nicknamed him the Moroccan Kante because of his ability to appear almost everywhere on the pitch.

CM: JUDE BELLINGHAM (ENGLAND) - Bellingham gave it his all for England in every game he played with his energy and tenacity off the ball as well as his ability to pick out passes. He was arguably England's best player at this World Cup at the age of just 19 and he is only going to get better.

CM: ANTOINE GRIEZMANN (FRANCE) - He might not have scored a single goal but Griezmann was once again influential to the French as they almost went all the way. He registered the joint most assists with 3 and was excellent off the ball with his ability to track back and help his team out defensively.

RW: LIONEL MESSI (ARGENTINA) - Argentina's messiah was completely unplayable at this World Cup and was deservedly the player of the tournament. His 6 goals and 3 assists played a huge role in Argentina going all the way and is still showing no signs of slowing down at the age of 35 as he still has the ability to glide past players at ease.

LW: KYLIAN MBAPPE (FRANCE) - Mbappe is the next in line to replace Messi as the best player in the world and he certainly showed why at this World Cup. He won the golden boot with 8 goals and he caused full backs all kinds of problems with his pace and agility. France might not have gone as far as they did without him.

ST: OLIVIER GIROUD (FRANCE) - It was a close call between Giroud and Alvarez and in the end I went with Giroud. The former Arsenal and Chelsea striker scored 4 goals as France reached the final and also became France's record goal scorer with his striker against Poland in the last 16. This guy deserves more respect to his name.
