GK: EMILIANO MARTINEZ (ASTON VILLA) - Martinez kept 4 clean sheets during April as Villa put themselves in contention for a place in European football next season. He made a number of big saves throughout the entire month and has carried his World Cup form with him into the Premier League.

RB: TRENT ALEXANDER ARNOLD (LIVERPOOL) - TAA was back to his best in a new role during April which gave him more freedom to get forward. He registered 6 assists during April and Jurgen Klopp may consider putting him in midfield next season.

CB: TYRONE MINGS (ASTON VILLA) - Mings has been one of a number of players who have improved a lot under Unai Emery at Aston Villa and his form during April shows that. His partnership with Konsa at the back makes Villa a solid outfit defensively and his performances back there were crucial to Villa keeping 4 clean sheets.

CB: JOHN STONES (MAN CITY) - Stones has been one of the first names on the City team sheet recently and especially during April. He stepped in as a makeshift where he did an excellent job and was also solid in defence. He was arguably the best defender in the league during the month.

LB: ALEX MORENO (ASTON VILLA) - Villa's new left back looked solid right throughout April and is looking like a decent signing. He didn't put a foot wrong defensively throughout the whole of April as Villa put themselves in contention for a place in Europe and kept 4 clean sheets.

RW: MOHAMED SALAH (LIVERPOOL) - Liverpool began to find some form during April and so did Salah. He netted 6 goals in 7 games during the month as the reds got their top four bid back on track and is continuing to show how important he is for the reds.

CM: KEVIN DE BRUYNE (MAN CITY) - After struggling to find his best form after the World Cup, De Bruyne was truly back to his brilliant best during April. He scored 3 goals and registered 4 assists as City gained the upper hand in the title race and if he keeps this up he's in with a chance of equalling his assist record.

CM: EBERECHI EZE (CRYSTAL PALACE) - With Wilfired Zaha missing most of the month through injury, someone needed to step up in his place and Eze did exactly that. He scored 4 goals during April as Palace pulled themselves further clear of relegation and could be the Eagles' new talisman next season if Zaha goes.

LW: DIOGO JOTA (LIVERPOOL) - Jota has been such a massive loss for the reds this season when he's side-lined and he showed why during April. He registered 5 goals and 2 assists as the reds got their European push back on track and has given them the energy and work rate they've lacked in attack all season.

ST: ERLING HAALAND (MAN CITY) - Haaland was back among the goals during April as he netted 6 times to put City in charge of the title race. He broke the record for most goals in a 38 game season and equalled the record for most goals in a single season which he is looking to break very soon.

ST: CALLUM WILSON (NEWCASTLE) - Wilson broke the record for most goals in a calendar month during April as he netted 8 times. He regained the form he was in prior to the World Cup and also began to form a decent strike partnership with Alexander Isak.
