England World Cup 2026 Player Ratings

England's World Cup campaign came to an end on Saturday following their win over France in the Third Place Play Off.

With their tournament now over, I've decided to rate each player based on how they performed over the course of the whole tournament.

JORDAN PICKFORD - 6

Pickford wasn't as reliable as he usually is England at this tournament as he let in goals he would normally keep out. He did have a good game against Mexico in the last 16 and make some important saves in the semi final against Argentina, but in the other games he wasn't as solid between the sticks.

DEAN HENDERSON - 5

Henderson played just the one game in the Third Place Play Off against France and pulled off some crucial saves including a brilliant stop to deny Kylian Mbappe. But he conceded four goals.

REECE JAMES - 6

James missed a few games at this tournament due to injury but when he was one the pitch, he put in some decent displays. Might've had a higher rating had he not been injured.

DJED SPENCE - 7

Despite a poor performance against DR Congo, Spence went on to become one of England's standout performers by putting in good displays at both ends of the pitch. Defensively he made crucial challenges when his team needed him to whilst going forward he always looked dangerous.

EZRI KONSA - 7

Konsa was ever present in the England defence throughout the tournament and put in a decent shift for his team. He made vital interventions when his team needed him to and was solid wherever he was asked to play.

JOHN STONES - 7

There were questions coming into the tournament as to whether Stones should start due to his lack of minutes. But he went on and put in some solid displays right throughout the tournament and showed why he deserved to start.

MARC GUEHI - 7

After starting on the bench in the opening game against Croatia, Guehi was soon brought back into the starting 11 and looked solid at the back for the rest of the tournament. He made key interventions when he needed to and did not put one foot wrong.

JARELL QUANSAH - 6

Quansah wasn't on the pitch for very long as he went off injured against Panama and was sent off against Mexico. But when he was on the pitch he played well as he put in a decent shift for his team by making important interventions.

DAN BURN - 7

Burn made a difference whenever he came off the bench as he helped England close out games during the knockout games by using his height to win crucial aerial duels. His performance against Mexico was a prime example of this as England were put under a lot of pressure towards the end of the game and his aerial presence played a key role in them holding on for the win.

TREVOH CHALOBAH - 4

Chalobah was brought into the squad mid-tournament as a replacement for Tino Livramento after the latter left the squad due to injury. He didn't feature until the final few minutes of the Third Place Play Off against France where he didn't do a lot.

NICO O'REILLY - 6

O'Reilly had one or two nervy moments during the tournament and especially defensively but other than that, he still had a reasonably solid tournament. He made crucial interventions when his team needed him to and had a fairly solid first tournament.

ELLIOT ANDERSON - 8

Anderson was right up there among England's best players at this tournament as he won the ball back for his team countless times. He's made that no.6 role his own since he's been in the team and he very much established himself as the first choice in that position at this tournament.

DECLAN RICE - 7

He might not have been at his brilliant best, but Rice still put in a good shift for his team by getting back and winning the ball back for his team. He also created a lot of chances despite his deliveries not being as sharp as they usually are.

JORDAN HENDERSON - 5

Henderson only featured just the once in England's final group game against Panama where he played only a few minutes. He didn't do much during that time which makes us all ask why he was even in the squad in the first place.

JUDE BELLINGHAM - 9

Bellingham for me was England's best player at the World Cup as he stepped up whenever his team needed someone to and scored 7 goals which is more than any England player at a major tournament. There were questions as to whether he would start at this tournament and he showed why he deserved to.

MORGAN ROGERS - 6

Rogers didn't make much of an impact at this tournament until the Quarter Finals against Norway where he brought some much needed energy to the team after coming on. His cameo was enough to earn him a start in the semi final against Argentina where he set up Anthony Gordon's goal.

EBERECHI EZE - 6

Eze didn't play a great deal at this tournament due to other players ahead of him in the pecking order and he didn't really set the world a light. But he did play well when he came on against DR Congo and set up Saka's second goal in the Third Place Play Off.

BUKAYO SAKA - 7

Saka wasn't 100% fit for much of the tournament after picking up an injury towards the back end of last season. But when he played, he still made a difference and probably deserved to start more than he did. He ended his tournament on a strong note with a hat trick in the Third Place Play Off against France.

NONI MADUEKE - 4

Madueke was arguably England's most disappointing player at this tournament as his final ball frequently let him down. He did win the penalty in the opening game against Croatia, but he did not influence the games he played in and how he started more than Saka was very surprising.

ANTHONY GORDON - 7

Gordon didn't make much of an impact in the opening games but once the knockout games came round, we saw him at his best as he assisted both of Kane's goals against DR Congo after coming off the bench and got England fans dreaming with his goal against Argentina in the semi finals. He's got that spot on the left hand side nailed on for sure.

MARCUS RASHFORD - 6

Rashford's tournament got off to an encouraging as he netted the winning goal in the opening game against Croatia from the bench and impressed in his first start against Panama. But was back on the bench following a disappointing display against DR Congo. But he did get an assist in the Third Place Play Off against France when he set up Saka's first goal.

HARRY KANE - 8

Where would England be without their record goal scorer? Kane stepped whenever his country needed him to as he found the net 6 times and without him England might not have gone as far as they did. Another good tournament for England's talisman in what looks like his last World Cup.

OLLIE WATKINS - 4

Watkins didn't get a lot of minutes at this tournament as he had just a short cameo against Panama followed by the whole second half in the Third Place Play Off against France. He didn't make much of an impact in either game as he wasn't on the pitch for very long.

IVAN TONEY - 5

Toney played just two games at this tournament in a short cameo during stoppage time of the semi final against Argentina and the first half in the Third Place Play Off against France. He barely touched the ball against Argentina whilst against France he didn't cause the defenders any real problems.
