GK: GUGLIELMO VICARIO (TOTTENHAM) - Vicario kept 2 clean sheets and made more saves than any other keeper during August as Spurs got their season off to a good start. He always makes a big difference to Spurs when he's in the team by being a solid presence between the sticks.

RB: JURRIEN TIMBER (ARSENAL) - Timber put in some good solid performances at both ends during August by winning his duels defensively and helping his team out going forward. He netted twice and recorded one assist in Arsenal's 5-0 win over Leeds and it looks as though he's taken the right back spot off Ben White.

CB: VIRGIL VAN DIJK (LIVERPOOL) - Liverpool weren't particularly great defensively during August, but Van Dijk still stepped up by winning his duels and making key interventions. The reds would've conceded more than goals than they did without their talismanic skipper who is still as important as ever.

CB: MARC GUEHI (CRYSTAL PALACE) - Guehi was heavily linked with a move away from Palace all summer but he did not let the speculation get to him. He put in solid performances right throughout August as the Eagles kept 2 clean sheets and he even rounded off the month with a brilliant strike against Villa. Palace will have been delighted that they kept hold of him but for how long?

LB: RICCARDO CALAFIORI (ARSENAL) - Calafiori had an injury hit debut season with Arsenal last season but he's got this season off to a strong start. He did his job defensively whilst going forward he helped his team out by registering a goal and 2 assists. If he can stay fit he could have a big role to play for the Gunners this season.

RW: BRENNAN JOHNSON (TOTTENHAM) - I've tipped Johnson to have a big season for Spurs this season and he's got his season off to a good start by scoring in each of Spur's opening two games against Burnley and Man City. If he can keep up this kind of form, he could be Spurs' new talisman and I've even tipped him to be that player.

CM: MOISES CAICEDO (CHELSEA) - Caicedo made more interceptions than any other player during August and he also contributed at the other end by scoring in the Blues' 5-1 win at West Ham. I might've said this about him last season, but he's looking every inch of the player that Chelsea paid all that money for.

CM: DOMINIK SZOBOSZLAI (LIVERPOOL) - Szoboszlai played most of August at right back but I've put him in midfield as that is his main position. He worked his socks off wherever he was asked to play right throughout August and he rounded off his stellar month with that brilliant free kick against Arsenal. He's definitely going to play another major role for Liverpool this season wherever he's asked to play.

LW: JACK GREALISH (EVERTON) - Grealish has been a player reborn since joining Everton as he's been given the freedom to fully express himself on the pitch. He registered more assists than any other player in August with 4 and was unlucky not to have been recalled into the England squad.

ST: ERLING HAALAND (MAN CITY) - Haaland scored more goals than any other player in August with 3 with his third strike being his 88th Premier League goal, making him the highest goal scorer within 100 games. City might not have started the season very well, but at least their Norwegian hitman is still finding the net.

ST: JOAO PEDRO (CHELSEA) - Pedro has has carried his Club World Cup form into the Premier League as he registered 2 goals and assists each as Chelsea got their season off to a reasonably good start. His contributions and overall performances are a sign that the blues won't be as reliant on Cole Palmer as they have been in the last couple of seasons.
