Southampton's goal should've stood

Southampton were on the end of a refereeing decision that went against them against Brighton on Saturday, when Cameron Archer had his winning goal ruled out for offside. Adam Armstrong was the player offside in the build up to the goal, but he didn't touch the ball before Archer put it in the back of the net.

Based on this, the goal should've stood because the player offside didn't touch the ball. Armstrong's movement in the box may have had an impact on Brighton keeper Verbruggen stopping the ball, but as he didn't touch the ball in the build up, the goal should've stood.

Southampton will have no doubt felt hard done by, by the officials.

Is Bukayo Saka turning into a world class player?

Bukayo Saka put in another fine display on Saturday against West Ham, against who he registered a goal and two assists. The latter took him up to 10 for the season, becoming the fourth quickest player to reach that feat in the Premier League.

With the promising season he's having so far, is becoming a world-class player?

He's definitely got the potential to be that kind of player because of how much he has developed as a player over the last three seasons at least. He's been one of the best players in the Premier League during that time and his numbers from those seasons are up there among the best players in Europe's top five leagues.

There is plenty of time for him to move onto that world class level as he's still a young player at 23. If he can have another great season this season and keep improving his numbers, he could move onto that level.

Is Enzo Fernandez finally living up to the £105 million price tag?

Enzo Fernandez has struggled to live up to the £105 million price tag since joining Chelsea from Benfica in January of last year, but things might be starting to turn a corner for him after registering 2 goals and 5 assists in his last 5 games in all competitions.

Could this be a sign that he's finally living up to the £105 million price tag?

His recent form will definitely give him confidence and he'll no doubt want to keep it up so he can finally prove that he's worth the amount of money Chelsea paid for him. Romero Lavia being injured and Moises Caicedo being used at right back, due to injuries to Malo Gusto and Reece James, have helped him as he's been given opportunities to show the manager what he can do, and he's taken them.

Caicedo and Lavia have formed a strong partnership in midfield this season and their partnership has helped Chelsea look more like a team this season. But Fernandez's recent form has put him right back in the picture and will have given Maresca something to think about when picking his team.

If Fernandez keeps up the current form he's in and keeps taking his opportunities in the team, we'll finally say that he's lived up to his big price tag.

Are Man City out of the title race?

Man City's hopes of winning a fifth consecutive Premier League title took another big hit at the weekend as they were beaten 2-0 by leaders Liverpool, leaving them 11 points adrift and outside the top four.

Are they out of the title race?

A lot of people will they are because of how far behind they are. But if there is one team who can reduce an 11 point deficit, it's Man City because of the experience they have in winning titles, and the run of form they go on during the latter stages of a season.

But doing that this season will be tough as they're without the influential Rodri, who has been one gigantic miss for them, and Liverpool and Arsenal are bound to get better as the season progresses. Especially Arsenal now they have Martin Odegaard back

I wouldn't say that their title hopes are over just yet because there is still a long way to go, and a January transfer window coming up, where they can sign a short-term replacement for Rodri as they look to get their season back on track.

Man United overcame a 15 point deficit back in 1996 when they leapfrogged Newcastle to win the title. Man City do have big deficit to overcome like Man United did back then, but with the experience they have of winning titles and the run of form they usually go on towards the end of a season, I wouldn't rule them out just yet.
