Goalkeepers are the enemy of a striker as they're the people who are there to stop the ball from going into the back of the net.
They're the players who a team rely on to keep them in the game and especially when they're on the back foot and under pressure as that is when they're needed more than ever.
It's during that stage where we see keepers at their best by making many big and important saves and a lot of them are of the highest order.
Every team needs a keeper who can make those top quality saves to keep them in games and we've seen many of the best keepers in the league pull them off time and time again over the years.
A few of the best keepers to grace the Premier League are in the listwith on eof two of them popping up more than once.
Here is the list:
Tom Heaton - Man United v Burnley - 2016
David De Gea - Arsenal v Man United - 2017
Emiliano Martinez - Nottingham Forest v Aston Villa - 2024
David De Gea - Man United v Everton - 2014
David Raya - Aston Villa v Arsenal - 2024
Joe Hart - West Ham v Man City - 2016
Jordan Pickford - Everton v Chelsea - 2022
David Seaman - Chelsea v Arsenal - 2000
Joe Hart - Swansea v Man City - 2015
Peter Schmeichel - Newcastle v Man United - 1997
David Seaman - Chelsea v Arsenal
Seaman's save against Arsenal from Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's header was quite a comfortable save as the ball wasn't going into the far corner and was at a good height for him to save it.
It was still a good save as he got down well to push the ball to the side with both hands and was in the right position to make the save.
But he didn't need to do a lot to save the ball as it was quite a comfortable save for him to make.
Peter Schmeichel - Newcastle v Man United
Schmeichel pulled off many quality saves in his time including this one handed stop against Newcastle.
John Barnes' header from Stuart Pearce's cross was definitely on target and just when you thought it was going to go into the back of the net, Schmeichel stretched his arm out and dived low to make the save.
It was a brilliant save and one of the best he made throughout his career, but it was quite a comfortable save for him to make as it was at a good height for him and the ball wasn't going into the far corner.
Tom Heaton - Man United v Burnley
Heaton hurt his arm when he pulled off this save against Man United to keep out Zlatan Ibrahimovic's powerful scissor kick.
I remember him making a lot of saves in this game and this one was by far the best one he made as he made himself look big by getting himself into a star fish position and throwing himself in front of the shot.
He showed bravery when making this save because of how powerful the shot was and him hurting his arm showed that he was also able to put his body on the line.
David De Gea - Man United v Everton
De Gea pulled off almost any kind of top class save when he was at his best including this incredible one against Everton.
Bryan Oviedo looked set to bring the scores level with his first time strike on the edge of the penalty area, but De Gea got his hand up and tipped the ball over the bar.
He was having a brilliant game before he made this save which pretty much won United the game.
Joe Hart - Swansea v Man City
Hart was an incredible shot stopper in his prime and this save against Swansea was when he was in the prime of his powers.
He was on his toes as Gylfi Sigurdsson's corner was delivered into the box and just when you thought Federico Fernandez was going to score from the corner, Hart pulled off an incredible one handed save.
The effort was definitely going on target and Hart was on hand to make the save to keep his team in the game and in front as City were leading the game at the time.
Joe Hart - West Ham v Man City
Hart's save against West Ham just pips his one against Swansea because the ball was going into the top corner which made the save even more spectacular.
He was facing off against a Dimitri Payet free kick and when Payet was over a free kick, the most likely outcome was that it was going to result in a goal.
It was definitely looking that way until Hart got his fingertips on the ball and pulled off an incredible save.
David De Gea - Arsenal v Man United
I remember De Gea having a blinder in this game against Arsenal as he made countless saves including the double save which the one I'm talking about.
He first kept out Alexander Lacazette's effort with his hands and then he showed incredible reaction time to deny Alexis Sanchez with his feet just a matter of a second later.
He was probably the best keeper in the world at the time of this game and he showed why with this double save.
Jordan Pickford - Everton v Chelsea
Pickford had to show incredible reaction time to pull off this save against Chelsea as he dived down to try and save one shot which fortunately hit the post, before quickly getting back up to save the rebound on the goal line.
He was in the right place at exactly the right time to make the save as he got himself up the moment the ball went off the post from the first shot and rushed to get nearly the whole of his body behind the goal line to make the save.
This save proved massively crucial to Everton and their season as they were battling relegation and needed something from this game to boost their chances of staying up.
David Raya - Aston Villa v Arsenal
Raya had to show incredible reaction time to pull off this save against Villa as Villa had an effort go against the crossbar which rebounded into the path of Ollie Watkins, whose diving header was brilliantly saved by Raya.
He had just enough time to get onto his knees after trying to tip the first shot over the crossbar and for him to react as quickly as he did to deny Watkins was incredible.
Emiliano Martinez - Nottingham Forest v Aston Villa
Martinez's save against Villa had to be my no.1 because of difficult it was to pull and the reaction time he showed to pull it off as well.
The ball was behind him when he pulled off the save and it came at him at a quick pace from Nicolas Dominguez's downwards header.
For him to react as quickly as he did to get down low and pull the save off was absolutely incredible.
MY TOP 10:
Emiliano Martinez - Nottingham Forest v Aston Villa
David Raya - Aston Villa v Arsenal
Jordan Pickford - Everton v Chelsea
David De Gea - Arsenal v Man United
Joe Hart - West Ham v Man City
Joe Hart - Swansea v Man City
David De Gea - Man United v Everton
Tom Heaton - Man United v Burnley
Peter Schmeichel - Newcastle v Man United
David Seaman - Chelsea v Arsenal
